her eyes widened slightly at the idea of seraphina wanting to take her on a date. it sounded impossible, especially after she had hyped herself up for it only to be let down by this whole scheme. grace sighed softly, fingers toying with one of the bracelets she'd worn for the occasion, nodding. "my parents have always said i was too naive and that people would take advantage. i guess i just - i never expected them to, you know? i thought we were good friends." she couldn't help but smile at the blonde's description of her possible evening, curiously looking up at the mention of the other feeling grossed out by this entire affair. the compliment only unexpected heat to her cheeks and she managed to look sera in the eyes this time. "i'm sorry you got .. tangled up in all of this. but thank you. you seem really nice. much nicer than what they expected you to be probably. but i'm glad. i didn't want things to be weird because of everything but now i guess there's .. less expectations? since it's not a real date." that sounded wrong, and she shook her head. "i mean, it is, but it's more of an arrangement since - you know what i mean." the offer did sound nice, much better than to cry over this whole night and grace exhaled slowly as she regained some of the confidence she'd lost during this whole evening. "yeah. i'd love to actually. i've never had frozen yogurt, and i do love that fountain." her smile grew and she almost reached out to take sera's hand before reminding herself that this wasn't like a date. "thank you. you don't have to do all that but i really appreciate it. you're a great person, seraphina." she stepped closer to the blonde, hesitant still, but feeling warmer at the proximity and the night ahead now that it didn't feel like the rest of the ground would drop from under her feet. hopefully.

sera rolled her eyes and shrugged. "i'm used to people making assumptions about me. it's fine. but you don't have to be the one to apologize for them. i'm still going to enjoy being with you." she reached over and gave grace's hand a little squeeze. sera couldn't explain why learning that grace had never had frozen yogurt hit her in a way that made her want to show grace all kinds of experienced. inexperienced when it came to dating or sex was one thing but simple joys like frozen yogurt wasn't something a woman as sweet as grace should be kept from. "sounds like it was meant to be. you can't go another night without trying frozen yogurt. you'll like it. you get to pick all your toppings and things." she left a good tip on the table for the poor server who had to deal with the extra drama and led grace to the door, linking their arms once they got outside. even in her heels grace was taller than her. "don't worry the place isn't far from here. and we can call this a practice date how about. no pressure but an arrangement sounds so formal. we don't need to take away from the fun of things." with their arms linked their bodies brushed as they walked, sera's eyes scanning to make sure no one gave grace attention she might not want. "we had barely started to get to know each other so let's start that again. what's one thing that makes you smile when you've had a bad day grace?" sera thought another topic altogether and moving on from whatever asshole friends grace had was for the best. she'd have to tell lucy later all about this and how they were definitely going to need to include grace in some girl nights if she wasn't too scared off by things with sera by the end of the night.

despite having seen the brunette all dolled up, heels, expensive jewelry and designer dresses, constance felt a pang of affection course through her body at seeing missy like this, tucked in bed and looking softer, smaller almost. nodding, she quickly made her way back to the door, locking them in and checking twice before she grabbed one of the armchairs on her way back, lifting it just enough to avoid making too much noise as she set it next to missy's bed. she sat down, relaxing into it best as she could - her body would be sore tomorrow, that she knew already - legs crossed at the ankles as she tilted her head towards the brunette when the other spoke. it felt strange, to think that there had been a time where someone shared missy's bed, someone who wasn't there anymore and whose thought made her fists clench in annoyance. pushing away those unprofessional feelings, constance smiled, fingers itching to reach out and offer some more physical support as she nodded once again. "i get it. must be weird being by yourself when you're always surrounded with people." she spoke, voice low and raw from the long day. "though i guess you're not really alone anymore." she offered, glancing to the brunette's stomach and then back at herself with a chuckle. "like i said. i'm here to make sure you're good. if it means staying over until you fall asleep and making sure you get some rest, that's fine by me. gotta make sure you have everything you need." she did her best to suppress a yawn, hiding behind her elbow as she felt the tiredness setting in her body. "if anything's wrong or you do need something, feel free to wake me up. i don't sleep too heavily, so it should be easy. and i mean it - anything. even if it's just telling me about a nightmare or some more water. anything you need."

missy looked down at her own stomach as constance did and gave a soft laugh too. "you make a very good point." she wasn't alone now. she watched as constance did her best to get comfortable, trying and failing to hide her yawn. sleeping in a chair couldn't be that good for sleep. but before missy could offer an alternative constance was reminding her she was there for anything in the middle of the night - to talk or more water. unexpectedly missy's eyes welled up with tears and she had to blink them away. "sorry, hormones," she explained. there was something about constance offering to be there when missy had always envisioned someone by her side when she got pregnant. and so much of the pregnancy she hadn't had that. "thank you. hopefully i'll sleep soundly for both of us. are you sure you're..." missy gestured to cosntance's position. "that doesn't look very comfortable. you could take the other side of the bed." they were both grown adults it didn't have to be weird. but she added to help with the offer, "on top of the covers if that's better? or at least use one of these six pillows that i don't need..." missy reached for her water again and took a sip through the straw, shifting and then looking at constance with wide eyes. she wasn't trying to put her in a particular position, but she had asked her to stay. "whatever makes you most comfortable, of course."

that definitely had been unexpected, but liz would never mind ending a busy night in a pretty person's bed, especially someone as sweet as ash. something about the other woman was quietly understated, and it had been easy to fall into bed with her, a far cry from the self-obsessed types liz usually found herself entangled with. her eyes opened slowly, lips curling up into a grin at the greeting, almost tempted to pull the other back to bed right away. instead, liz chuckled softly at her words, shaking her head as she propped herself up on her elbows. "i don't believe i would have made it all the way back home after all of that." she teased, finding her voice to be slightly raw. she usually would have done her best to be gone by the time her companion woke up, but something about ash made her want to linger around. a kind of familiarity liz wasn't used to, comfortable and easy. "thank you for the offer, but i will get dressed. i wouldn't want to end up with some disastrous burn from hot coffee should we get distracted again." as ash made her way towards the kitchen, liz stretched, running her fingers through her messy, tangled hair with a light chuckle. getting up, she made her way around the bedroom, taking in the frames and the pinned up photographs. grabbing some kind of big enough shirt from the dresser, she put it on as she continued her visit, eyes catching on something odd. a picture of ash, along with someone whose face was eerily similar but different. her eyes widened as she realized why the other looked familiar, even if dressed down, the obviousness of the resemblance was harder to pinpoint. unpinning the photograph, she lazily walked towards the kitchen, as she called out. "you could have told me you were family with hollywood's latest up-and-coming girl next door." her brows furrowed as she looked at the picture, moving closer to ash and leaning against the counter. "though i guess that one's on me. you would think i'd have picked up on it, with the whole twins thing, really. but i guess you learn new things every day, huh?"

ash flashed liz a grin before she left the room, pleased at the idea of further distraction was already on the table. "you're right, can't have coffee being what leaves evidence on that beautiful body of yours." she might have to check if there were any marks on liz later. ash was in the middle of trying to deduce what type of coffee drinker liz was when it came to cream and sugar when she heard the voice coming out of the bedroom. of course liz who was hot, sexy, confident, and ash had great chemistry with knew who ness was. ash rolled her eyes and then turned to give liz something of a lopsided smile. "oh i didn't know hearing daisy wolfe anecdotes was what you wanted my mouth to be doing last night. you seemed really into other things occupying it." it wasn't that bad, of course people knew her sister. it was a common thing, and truthfully it had been nice that liz had seen her so much as her own person she hadn't connected ash to her twin until she'd seen the pictures. "oh yeah that was a weekend trip to this cabin. still don't know how i swung the time off. but i like that one so you can't steal that as a souvenir." liz seemed genuine in her coming by the realization and not some weirdo who had come home with ash with the hopes of getting to meet her sister or something. she grabbed liz's mug from the top to leave the handle free for her to grab. "since you decided to not let me serve you in bed, you get to doctor this yourself. there is oatmilk and some flavored creamer in the fridge. and i can get you sugar too if you need it." ash took a sip of hers black. a habit that had formed from too many nights at the hospital when the only option was black.

"you're not a burden." her brows furrowed, and she almost reached out again out of instinct, but held back. "you're doing an incredible job dealing with everything as it is, i mean it. i'm just here to make sure you don't get too stressed out or .. no one weird tries to approach you." constance shrugged. sure, anyone who knew her enough would call her out on her bullshit, seeing as she had never been the type to go the extra-mile, especially not to stay over and make sure someone she'd been hired by slept well or had everything they needed. but she preferred to tell herself that this was all temporary, and important. now that she saw the strength with which missy handled it all, it felt obvious to do the same with her part of the contract. the reassurance made her chuckle, and she shook her head. "i still will. i want to see what all the fuss is about. fuss being a positive, i promise. i've heard good things." she couldn't picture missy being bad at her job in anyway, and she couldn't help but be curious about seeing that version of her, the one everybody else knew. not that she would trade with the one she got to take care of every day and most nights.

her lips curled into something akin to a shy smile at the idea of watching something with missy. it was all too easy for her brain to almost feel it - the weight of the brunette against her arm, the actress dozing off quietly as the story unfolded. swallowing hard to push those thoughts away, constance focused instead on the gentle understanding. "i'm fine. being in all types of places is part of my job, don't worry. and if it ever gets .. bad, i will make sure to notify your team in advance, so they can switch me out and find someone else." she carefully took off her jacket, folding it over her arm as she nodded. her stomach dropped - briefly - at the notion of making the other woman cry but she was relieved when missy was the one to joke. "and you're allowed to cry anytime. god knows what you're dealing with in there." she waved to her head and body, running her fingers through her hair as she exhaled. "water, and ice. coming right up. i'll just go and get changed so i can be more comfortable for the night, if that's okay."

she didn't wait to take her leave, promptly heading back to her room and switching her work attire for something looser but still appropriate. a matching set of sweatpants and sweatshirt, all black and plain enough. making her way back, she gave a couple of knocks, before entering missy's room, putting the water bottle and ice on the bedside table. out of habit, sharp blue eyes surveyed the room and she tilted her head towards the other. "you all good? want me to lock the room door, just in case? not that they could do much with me here, but you know."

missy almost backtracked and told constance she was fine, and the other could stay in her own room, but she knew she'd sleep easier with her bodyguard around and rest had been elusive. besides they wouldn't be on the press tour in a few more days. "take your time, whatever you need to do for the night," missy assured left with her thoughts as constance slipped out. it was nice to hear that she wasn't seen as a burden from the one person she might actually be one too. it was nice that constance believed in her and didn't think she was a complete mess when it came to her work as an actress and everything with the baby. it almost felt like she had her life back together in some respects if she didn't think too hard what it was going to be like once the baby was born. missy had gotten under the covers by the time constance made it back, the casual attire making her look softer in a way that made missy long to be closer. "yeah you can lock up, that'd be good," missy said clutching the edge of her sheet. she stretched for her water and took a long sip. "perfect, thank you." she smiled at her bodyguard trying to tell herself the thoughts of wanting to be closer and fee constance's strong arms around her were probably hormones she had no way of controlling. "before the breakup..." missy started, voice a little softer. "our schedules could keep us apart but most nights we were together. it was a whole thing getting used to being by myself at night. lucy stayed over in my guest room a couple nights at the start. it really okay most of the time, it's just... i've never been good at alone. so thank you, for being here." she wondered for a moment if she was keeping constance from someone or if she was more used to being alone.

it hadn't been exactly what ash had planned for the night but she certainly wasn't complaining when she woke up next to liz, body aching in all the right places warm where her skin pressed against the other beneath the sheets. ash indulged in the quiet for a little bit before slipping out of bed, pulling on a random t-shirt and some underwear before she head her night's companion shifting in the bed. "good morning," she greeted, voice a little smug. she settled back down on the edge of the bed and leaned in for a kiss. "last night was fun. i'm glad you stayed." ash fixed some of liz's stray hair and sat back up. "i'm just going to make us some coffee and will be back. feel free to snag a shirt or something from the dresser if you want. or don't," ash gave a little mischievous shrug. "you look amazing both ways. in my clothes or out." she stood and stretched, knowing coffee wouldn't take that long and hopefully they could enjoy a lazy morning in bed together.

"oh, believe me, i went insane for it. pretty sure i was the reason the guy had to come twice a week to fill it back up. i drank that shit up like it was magic juice." she grinned, a flashing thought about the two of them bumping into each other when they were younger passing through her mind. she had to bite back a wince as she thought about what impression fifteen-year-old constance would have made on a younger missy. "thank you. i'll take the compliment anyway." technically, she'd given herself the said compliment, but it was still nice to hear the other repeat it. was the no flirting thing only for when they worked together? cause that would mean that anything outside of that time didn't matter right? mentally slapping herself for that, constance shook her head, her smile slipping off as she heard the other admit that she'd been warned about her. of course. she wondered what kind of horror stories missy had heard. something about sleeping with someone and never calling them back. or the whole, two-timing debacle with two girls on the same ice skating team. hopefully she hadn't heard about her many suspensions for fighting, because she was trying to put that behind her. "thanks." she finally replied, realizing she had stayed silent while she contemplated all of those possibilities. at least, that meant that missy wouldn't want to do anything with her beyond their partnership, so that should have been a relief, probably. and yet, all constance felt was worry about it.

"i don't think that's blasphemy. half the girls on my team hate the cold. i don't mind it. i tend to heat up pretty fast when i'm moving around and keeping busy anyway." she shrugged, pushing away other implications. "iced coffee? nah, that's the blasphemy. up there with cold chocolate milk. disgusting." she scrunched up her nose, guiding missy along the way with a soft touch to her elbow as they crossed the street. "it's just up there. you've probably walked in front of it without noticing. it's actually underground?" her brows furrowed. "i promise, it's an actual place, not a hazing ritual or whatever."

it was a cute visual to entertain, teenage constance at the rink, excited to have hot chocolate. it seemed there were some universal parts to younger years spent on the ice be it hockey or figure skating. the banter was light until constance seemed to register what missy had said about being warned and she immediately regretted her words. she almost reached for the other's hand to squeeze and pull her out of it, hand moving and then hesitating like the gesture might be too familiar. "of course," missy replied to constance's quiet thank you. "really you've been fun to work with. we're in different worlds is all." missy gave a little shrug like that explained whatever she had heard. sometimes she did think that the other figure skaters had a very specific bubble and missy wasn't completely immune to that either. it was one of the reasons why being with constance was enjoyable and refreshing. she didn't come from missy's world but she understood competing and hard work. it was a good balance. missy couldn't help but laugh at constance's disdain for iced coffee and chocolate milk. "noted, none of those cold drinks for you." her cheeks warmed at constance's easy touch, leading the way. "you were worried about my face earlier so hazing seems also out of the question, but underground sounds fun." missy bounced on the balls of her feet excitedly. "is that something that happened with your team? hazing? that's not really so much a figure skating things. but we're a little more singular even if we share coaches and stuff. if we did something it would be like, staying up all night when we have an away trip but like after the competition of course." honestly the idea of a more formal team sounded nice, though missy was certain a sport like hockey wouldn't be something she could shine at.

she couldn't imagine what hollywood parties must have been like. the ones she'd attended during her wilder years had been crazy enough, but constance doubted that it was comparable to what rich and powerful people had access to, especially younger actors. she nodded at the idea of people looking out for missy, glad that the brunette hadn't gone through too much like others sometimes did. "that's good. you must have that vibe about you. something that makes people want to make sure you're safe." it was not quite teasing, and she didn't allow herself to cross the line into some more inappropriate comments about happily taking care of missy. she didn't want things to be interpreted the wrong way, not when the woman had already enough on her plate with everything else. "thank you. it means a lot to hear, especially from you. i'm glad you called me back. i didn't mind my old job but you're .. nicer. feels less like a job." she forced herself to stop there, because the more she spoke, the closer she felt to the edge of something else, especially in the dim lights of this hotel room, with her hand on missy's stomach, the two of them quietly chatting in the night.

missy's laugh made something tingle in her fingers, the vibration of it through her body causing her to smile softly. "then maybe i won't. will spare you the annoying fan questions and reviews." she replied, the mention of a drinking game causing her to straighten up. "i don't drink. so at least, that would not be a problem. but if that helps, i'm pretty easily fooled by movie magic. i tend not to see the rigs and the cables and everything. kinda just let my mind wander." constance admitted, and it felt weirdly intimate to do so. the mention of sports made her chuckle and she shook her head. "don't worry about it. you need the rest, and it's actually nice to have a conversation. so i don't mind. i can always catch the highlights later on my phone." she took the opportunity to pull her hand back, slowly getting up. "can i get you anything before you tuck in for the night? water, snacks, playing with your hair until you fall asleep?" her eyes widened and she rubbed a hand over her face. "sorry, that was a joke. i guess i'm tired too. it's my bad, really."

missy gave a gentle nod because constance was probably right about people tending to want to take care of her. it was nice she didn't say missy came off as innocent or naive like some people liked to say, as if there was an assumption she didn't know things about the world. she flashed constance a bright grin, glad to hear that working for her was less job-like than others. "good i'm glad it's not too much when it is a lot of hours. i mean you're still here and i feel much more demanding since the baby." missy had mostly come to terms with it that the extra needs and requests we're her being too much but were her looking out for her baby when that was her most important job currently. "not that you'd know how it was before. i don't like people seeing me as a burden," missy admitted. it was definitely some holdover from her time in foster care, wanting to not be in anyone's way or cause trouble. lucy often had to remind her that she could stick up for herself on set. "i don't think you could ever be annoying," missy said with a little shake of her head. "but either way, don't feel an obligation to watch on my account." upon learning constance didn't drink, she nodded at the information. people had plenty of reasons to choose sobriety and she didn't want to pry as to constance's. "i like that, you're like the perfect movie-goer. someone who lets themselves get lost in it. i bet i'd like watching things with you. and if... i know it's different for everyone who doesn't drink, but if there is ever a place that you'd rather not be like bars or something, i wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable." constance made her feel safe all the time. the least missy could do was to offer to keep constance away from places or situation that would make her feel unsafe. she missed constance's warm touch the moment her hand was removed even if they both needed to be heading to bed. when constance's eyes went a little big she giggled, finding the look far too cute. "be careful what you offer a pregnant woman even teasing, i might cry if i really need it," missy said and then quickly added. "kidding. that was a joke too. you've already dealt with my crying." missy could still remember constance holding her and then not making a big deal about it. "but i would like my water. the big water bottle with the handle? and ice?" she would regret it in the middle of the night when she had to get up to pee but that happened all the time anyway.

the compliment, the idea of missy being happy to see her face every day made something flutter inside of her stomach and constance couldn't hide the shy smile, and the way her cheeks heated up, just slightly. "right back at you, miss model." she replied, the banter coming more easily now that they had both opened up slightly. her thumb still stroked the bump gently, not wanting to seem rude by suddenly pulling away, especially since there was something comforting about knowing she was taking care of them both.

she laughed, the sound almost foreign to her own ears, something slightly raspy and not too loud. constance shook her head. "you're fine. believe me, that's about all the hollywood excitement i can handle. i'm not one for big parties and nights out." she admitted. she had been once, and what had been fun at first had become a series of mistakes, with her pushing further and further, braving her limits until it was almost too late. but that wasn't who she was now. she was safe. professional. a protector, devoted and ready to do anything to make sure missy and her kid would be okay. "it wasn't easy. they did try, but i wasn't the type to listen. i had to make the mistakes to work it out, you know. but i'm glad they let me do this. trusting someone with that baggage with the security of a place wasn't a given. but i got lucky." she nodded, thinking back to the first real jobs she'd had. "and thank you." her eyes flicked up to missy's, her expression encouraging. "it is important. people like seeing themselves in the stories they watch, and i'm sure you do that very well." constance hesitated, wincing before she added. "is it bad that i've never watched one of your movies? i just don't have a lot of time and then i started working for you and it felt weird. like i was .. movie-stalking you or something. but i promise i'll watch the next one. especially if you're a princess. that sounds fitting for you, i have to admit."

missy tried not to read into constance's soft smile or the smallest of tinting of her cheeks, but she did grin at the banter thrown back her way. "then you're in luck, this," missy nodded down at her bump. "gets me out of most party invites these days. those nights out can be a lot. don't get me wrong i've had fun but especially at the beginning it was overwhelming. it worked out that i think people saw me as someone to look out for." missy definitely had some blurry memories from some of her first big hollywood outings, but she always ended up safe the following morning. and then of course there had been tanner - missy tried not to think about him, the pain at the whole messy breakup and pregnancy still enough to upset her when her hormones threatened to max everything feel more intense. "you say lucky, but from my perspective you deserved that shot, and you've more than shown you were right for the job." she obviously needed more security these days but she'd worked with plenty of people over her career to know that constance was very good at what she did.

missy laughed and shook her head hard when constance asked if it was bad she hadn't seen her movies. "please, do not feel obligated at all," missy stuck her hand out over constance like she was physically stopping her from getting up to go watch that moment. "actually it's nice you haven't in some ways. i get to just be me when i'm with you, instead the actress everyone sees. so really only if you want to. as long as you promise you don't do a spot the bump drinking game or something." she was mostly on promotion from her previous movie but there had been a little shooting for a smaller part she had already committed to. lucy had to get in the directors face about it when he'd complained a little about being limited in his shots and missy couldn't quite remember if that was when constance had joined on or not. "sorry did you want to watch something? i think i asked about sports but maybe i thought it. pregnancy brain is so weird." she was lucky it hadn't interfered with learning lines.
