The surface. She wasn’t supposed to be here. She was never allowed to be here, but she was anyway, even though she was careful. After all, Hazel knew what Curo had said about the surface, and she knew what to avoid. She didn’t want to get absorbed by some monster after all. Hell she didn’t want to encounter any monsters at all. It was why she stayed in these rocky areas, where she never saw many monsters, plus she knew where to hide, so that was certainly helpful.

Nonetheless, the girl kept climbing, doing her best to keep a good grip on the rocks. Falling down would be bad, especially given the area she was climbing over. One slip-up and she’d... She didn’t want to think about it. She couldn’t think about it. But she was thinking about it now. The long fall. The rocks below... Even with her current form, she’d never survive that. Not those spiky rocks below-

She’d messed up. One badly placed foothold and her inability to grab a sturdy rock had caused the kid to tumble down downward, the girl gaining momentum the further she fell, letting out cries of pain the whole way down, all up until she stopped falling. However, she hadn’t landed in a nice spot. The spiked rocks below had been practically unavoidable, and now the child was more or less skewered right at the bottom, her form glitching continuously as it tried to maintain itself.
