AOI Edinburgh Illustrator Group

Hey Tumblr,

I know the chance to encounter Scottish artists here is pretty small, but it's not zero! So, here we go:

I have amazing news to share! I have the pleasure of working with The Association of Illustrators on building a wee meet up group for illustrators in and around Edinburgh. A similar group already exists in Glasgow (@illo_g on Instagram) but Edinburgh doesn't have one... yet! We can make this happen if there's enough interest. We're in phase one right now, which is essentially me collecting info on who would be interested to join and/or help both physically and by promoting this group in their community. So far, some ideas that have been floating around for things to do are the classical regular "Drink & Draw", but also "Draw Crawls" through Museums/Botanical Gardens/etc., beach cleans, networking events, (industry) talks, etc. Depending on what we do, we also need ideas for locations respectively! If you are an illustrator in the area and interested in tagging along on this journey, please send an email to [email protected] with your name and whether you'd be interested in helping. Also feel free to send me your ideas, thoughts, and questions! :) By the end of November, we will be able to tell if this group will happen, and I will be able to provide anyone interested with more information via email.
