It’s December 12th, so it’s time for my annual “Advent” calendar of sorts. This is Number 12 in a series of bits of holiday nonsense that I’ve put together over the years. If I have time, I may try to come up with a few more this year.

For October 29th, the reworked “square” version of the first montage I made for We Belong Dead magazine. This version included the two-strip technicolor Phantom as The Red Death as well as numerous characters tinted. This is not just a tribute to Silent horror films but was also a tribute to the artwork of Jann Haworth, and Peter Blake (et al).

This is one of my first horror-themed Haworth/Blake emulations that I made years ago.  A member of an FB group that I’m an admin of had posted it and was taking tacit credit for it, which I found strange since my “signature” is part of the composition (it’s on the smaller tombstone). And If anyone is wondering about the inclusion of John Ellman (Boris Karloff) from The Walking Dead (1936), it has been said by several writers that this was as close to "Frankenstein" that Warners could get to that property.  A similar situation existed with Lugosi playing "Dracula surrogates" in Mark of the Vampire and Return of the Vampire. They even slipped in the "He's alive" line.
