Came up with a little theory.

Nozomi seems…a bit desperate to me? Like, her distress when Takumi jumps her seems genuine, but her words otherwise don’t. She states ‘See? Our names aren’t even similar,’ which is…a weird thing to say, right? That’s not just me? It’s like she put thought into ‘not being similar’ to Karua.

My theory is that Karua and Nozomi are the same person playing two different ‘roles’. Karua was raised into the idea that someday, this war will arrive, and she’s going to be the ‘dead girl’ archetype. Someone to motivate the hero. That’s why she gets so scared. So when she’s brought back, she’s pretty much desperately trying to make sure no one knows she’s alive.

Nozomi also being more loyal to the cause than the others adds to this, I feel.
