I don’t think they’ve even changed Nate that much! His locker room speech in S1- sure the team took it in the motivational way it was meant, but the content wasn’t nice! And the biggest sign was how he exploded ‘you shrew’ at Rebecca in the finale. He always had a massive insecure mean streak in him.

no you’re totally right, I think I was hoping that the confidence ted showed in him would help. or that being indoctrinated into this team and system where the name of the game since ted’s arrival has been kindness and genuine attempts to remove the toxic masculinity that is typically rampant in men’s professional sports would have given him some security but that “nice guy” ego is really not enjoyable

I just think about a professional workplace these days and if you have someone abusing their power, bullying and belittling people who can’t or won’t fight back because of the power imbalance they’re in, that’s not only a good way to get fired, and maybe even sued, but also damage the reputation of ted, rebecca, and the entire team while you’re at it. picture the trent crimm articles about ted and rebecca having fostered a toxic workplace and propping up and abusive bully cause he was going through something. I know colin and the team forgave him after a quick (imo disingenuous) apology but it’s gonna be a big yikes from me dog.
