small guide to my ‘woman disguised as a man’ characters
ok so the idea i had is that Charlotte (the middle sister), who admires Samuel but would never tell that to anyone, least of all Sam himself, told Edith (the youngest of the Heathcote sisters) a story about a girl who went to sea to be with her lover (based off of Sam and then somewhat embellished, Charlotte is very much a storyteller) and Edith, thinking of her 'brother' in the Navy, decided she wanted to run away to sea too--she doesn't get much attention from her mother and even Charlotte, who is the kindest to and spends the most time with her, can't keep her company all the time, and she thought it might be exciting--it turns out to be even more exciting than she had imagined, in both good ways and bad. i feel like she'd take to it quite well but Sam would try to keep her from following in her footsteps, he'd never forgive himself if she died at sea. at the moment it's mostly something i'm just thinking about for fun but maybe i'll write it into something a little more serious. Charlotte would be panicking until they brought her home and then everyone tries their hardest to keep their mother from finding out...Charlotte would be terrified of her
sam and edith being the furthest apart in age out of their sisters and knowing barely anything about each other then spending so much time at sea together that edith is like sam's mini-him. and their sisters are kinda jealous of how close they are
