The orange-haired cat jumps and backs away quickly —— feeling as if it was discovered in a not-so safe area. Its hair stands up straight and tail lowered, yet swaying left and right over the ground. ( For Edith ! ) / @evenglow
While not uncommon to find a stray cat out and about, it’s certainly a bit rarer to find one out in the wilderness. At least, Edith had thought that she had been a ways from any village? Perhaps her map needed an update? Either way, she felt bad for spooking the poor dear and slowly crouched down with a gentle tone to her voice, “ It’s alright, lil’ one. I’m sorry for startling ya. “ The woman cooed, slowly reaching into her pack and pulled out a dried fish she had meant to have herself later, but perhaps the cat would forgive her transgression if she offered them food. She preferred fresh anyways and could easily fashion a pole later.
Lips curved into a gentle smile, her expression soft as she leaned forward ever so slightly to be able to allow the cat a chance to sniff before placing it on the ground before the precious little creature. “ It’s okay, go on. You can have it, cutie. “ Her tone remained even and gentle as she kept fairly still, but did shuffle back a couple paces to allow the cat a bit of comfort.
