The editor felt his eyes filling up with tears while he was looking at the paper on the table in front of him; the lines blurred and the color resembled of a wiped black color than a manga drawing. Being called by the boss, Ritsu gulped and stood up without do any mess.
The last thing he wanted was to be around him now. Following the editor-in-chief, The brunette never lifted the emerald-red eyes from the floor. He raised his own hand, But Takano was quicker; The raven placed his hand on Ritsu’s cheek and carefully wiped the tears, asking Ritsu if he needed someone to talk to.
The brunette editor slapped the warm hand and stepped back. In the beginning, RItsu repeatedly asked Takano to stop harassing him and bother him, and here he got what he wanted. But he regretted sincerely because of a simple reason.
Ritsu fell in love with Takano.
And he realized it… too late though. He recognized that Takano’s comfort was a friendly mode only and that burned his heart from inside.
“G-Gomen.” Ritsu murmured and struggled to regulate his breath, stable his shaken voice. “I-I’ll go to wash my face, and return to work properly, Takano-san.” He turned and quickly moved towards the men toilet. There he allowed the tears which Takano wiped a moment ago to stream.
Making me fall for and changing his mind on the way. It hurts. But it’s over. I’ll handle it like I’ve handled him so far. It’s over, I can move on. Maybe in the future we will be good friends…
The brunette bit his lip tight.
But right now I really want to go home.
Shock filled the flooded within the editor as the other bolted out the door; his eyes still lingering on him. Anger and confusion was all he felt as he trailed behind his employee; fingers clenched tightly beside him as he strode quickly towards Ritsu. Never in his life had he had an employee walk away from him, especially like THIS. Infuriated with the way his underling acted, Takano outstretched his hand--gripping Ritsu’s wrist tightly as he pulled him back into the room; his expression remaining in a disdained scowl.
“Oi! If a superior is talking to you, you shouldn’t
run away like that! If you have something to say,
just say it. I hate people who mope about point-
less things. It’s quite irritating.”
Oblivious to the current situation, Takano couldn’t read the other’s expression. Though tears and red cheeks dressed Ritsu’s features, the editor could only imagine what he was going through. Heaving a heavy sigh, Takano slightly pushes the other’s hand away, tucking his own into the pockets of his jeans. Maybe his outburst was too much, or maybe his concern for his workers was overwhelming; however, the last thing he needed was his workers breaking under the pressure of their jobs. Brown eyes glanced over at the other; brows furrowing together as Takano spoke,
“Listen, I don’t know what’s going on, but you
need to tell me. I can’t have you crying on the
job. It’s not healthy for you.”
