The final word count for NaNoWriMo. It is a feat that I never thought I would make. 50,000 words felt so unattainable a month ago. Every single day felt like climbing a mountain, some parts were flatter and much faster to get through and others were 90° cliffs that I would never get over. I was luck though, I had the Edmowirmo crew whose words of encouragement kept me going day after day. Now 10 minutes after midnight I look back at all the work I have done, the pages of words I have, the hours of work I have done, the friends I have made along the way, and I am proud. I am proud of every single word I have been able to pour out onto the pages, to bring a story that didn’t exist a month ago to life to watch characters grow into something more than I ever thought they could be. There is a pride here that I’ll never be able to explain. This month has been hell. I am exhausted and almost burnt out.
but I can’t to do it all again.
I’ll see you all for camp and for the Novembers to come!
With just about 10,000 words to go November is almost done. I have been fighting tooth and nail to get to the goal of 50,000 words. The fic will be done before that but I have a few scenes from the next one that I can write so I make it but i looks like the first draft of The Trick About Falling will be 55,000-58,000 words in total. Which is crazy. I have never had the motivation to finish a fic before and it will be nice to have one done.
Big shout out to the EdmoWriMo crew for the constant motivation and support and a big thank you to the MLs for organizing write-ins like today’s which helped me write 2200 words.
Word Count Update!
AHHHHH! I’m half way there! I hit 25,000 words tonight and I am so proud of myself. All in all the fic is now at 40,000 words (that includes camp nano this summer and some writing over the summer.) and I still got a lot of story left to tell. The craziest part of all this is my characters doing things I would have never imagined. From petty arguments to drink contests everything they have been doing has been a surprise and I’m loving it. Seeing them grow from ideas into full blown people with complex personalities and wants and needs is a great feeling. It’s like watching children grow up. I can’t wait for the story to be finished!
hit 15000 words today!!!
only 35000 to go!!
Made it to 12,00 words tonight! i’m trying to stay a head of par to give me some wiggle room on the days I have less time to write (or no time to write. Thanks work) I’m trying really hard this month to reach the goal. The Edmonton NaNo group has been so helpful with keeping me on track! Plus they are all super nice!
