Does anyone on here know anything about EDMR therapy? I have reached out from some advice on my best course of action for me and this came up but I know literally nothing.

Nothing like making your therapist cry on your first session of E.D.M.R. Therapy. I came across trauma I didn’t even know was in my brain today.
First session down for the EDMR- it was hard but I’m so proud of myself for doing this.❤️
Hi again! Hope you're doing well! I was wondering if you knew anything about EDMR therapy? I wanna try it but I'd have to switch therapists. I wanna work through my traumas and my childhood that I don't remember. Would EDMR help?
Hi! I don't know much about it, but from looking at it, I'd say it's worth a try!! Sometimes it's the best thing you can do, to get a new therapist, a new set of eyes on the situation. My old psych was good but my current psych is fantastic, so leaving her and going to him was 100% the right decision, so I'd take the chance. I don't know much about it however, so take my words with a grain of salt.
Y'all? Anyone know about EDMR?
excerpt from “the body keeps the score: brain, mind and body in the healing of trauma” by bessel a. van der kolk
I start EDMR therapy today.
I am nervous but excited to let go of my emotions.
My mom has caused me to have PTSD. My mom has caused me to have nightmares for the past month.
Having someone you were so close to become your enemy and demon is so heart breaking.
She was some I adore when she is sober and someone I despise when she’s not sober. She is the demon when she allows alcohol to go into her body.
As someone who turns 30 in less than a week, it’s time to grow out of this pain.
I am going for the best intentions with EDMR. I am ready to grow as a better and stronger individual who won’t allow someone to destroy the kind and beautiful heart I have in my body.
It’s okay to let go of people, even if they are blood.
If they cause you pain, let them go.
You get one life. Don’t live it in sadness and pain.
And also remember it might be dark in your world but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and people waiting for you to hug and support you.
I’ve spent much of my adult life trying different ways to heal from trauma. Every event, video, workbook, etc inched me forward, but nothing has worked as quickly or as powerfully as EDMR therapy. My nervous system is finally able to recognize: “Yes, that happened. But it’s not happening now.”
A tiny blue dot on a screen freed me from years of confusion, anger, and hurt.
I’m starting EDMR next month and I’m so terrified and excited all at the same time.
