Last Minute Study Guide
we all love procrastinating and leaving our studying till the very last minute. So here’s a guide to help you out!!
Start as early as you can. Since you are already short of time, you should get started ASAP. Gather all of your essentials like your pens, highlighters, textbooks, notebooks, water bottle, etc. and just sit down on your desk.
Try not to study on your bed. Beds are wayy too comfy to put you in the focus mindset ESPECIALLY FOR ALL-NIGHTERS. Find a desk and a comfortable chair at a good height and get started!
Get a checklist for the syllabus. Make a checklist with the help of the index of your books and write down all the topics that would be covered in your exam with their grading list (if you have it) so that you know which portions to give priority to. Having a checklist keeps you motivated as you check off items and makes you feel extra productive.
Actually start studying. Now that you have done all the preparations (make sure you don’t take too long to do those), its time to sit down and get the studying started. There are various methods of doing it depending on the subject.
For Learning based subjects, try and learn the most important topics first. For reactions and dates, write them out on a sheet of paper at least 4-5 times and then try saying them out loud at five times. For processes in biology, try drawing a flowchart or a schematic representation as if it was made to explain it to someone else and then explain it to yourself or to wall, a pillow or anything that’s willing to listen.
For subjects in involving calculations, try and practice 2 questions of each type. There is no point in learning just the concepts here. You should know how to be able to solve through and use the concepts you know. The best thing to do here is to refer to the questions given by your teacher in homework or classwork and practice them. The teacher wouldn’t give anything she hasn’t taught.
Take breaks!!! Do keep taking regular breaks to make sure that you don’t get tired too quickly and actually give time to the brain to retain and soak up all the information given to it. Try not to take breaks for too long or you might end up losing the focus mindset.
Solve past papers if those topics are included in this exam as well. Try and make an answer key to your past papers. questions are often repeated or a similar type of question is given in the exam.
Relax. Don’t stress too much about this. calmly go through your syllabus and don’t panic about what you don’t know. You might actually end up forgetting about what you do know.
Have a good exam! Best of luck
