These last few weeks have been quite busy. As I am working hard to finish the first batch of artisanal tiles (it really just means I hand painted them … 😉) I have been neglecting my other passion: writing about things I am passionate about and sharing them with you. It is never easy to start up a business. Aside from the tiles’ thingies, along with my family, I also started marketing shirts on Amazon. Anything to make a buck, you’ll think, but you wouldn’t be farther from the truth. The shirts are mostly environmentally themed (well some have more to do with certain occasions or holidays) and I wanted to put out there that I will be posting the link to buy them at the end of this post. Why here? Because part of the proceeds will go to organizations working to make sure we, that is you, me and the fence post, have a world to live in on a long-term basis. Educating our children to do what is right for all takes money.
Leyna, all the way back in Ghana does her part. Teaching kids on how to preserve our oceans, on how to save the turtles, on how not to waste and on how to reuse and recycle waste. When you take into account the destruction of good programs by the current administration, these organizations are essential.

Aside from continuing her research and teaching kids, Leyna was able to squish in a trip (better than nice I’ll say … I wish I were there …) to the Volta region, the most easterly region of Ghana, bordering on Togo, and an area of extraordinary scenic beauty. With rolling hills and valleys, rocky shores overlooking Lake Volta, rivers and waterfalls make for breathtaking scenery. And, a couple of days in a fantastic resort don’t hurt either 😉 😊 Pictures, as you see, tell a better story than just words.
“The views were immensely wide. Everything that you saw made for greatness and freedom, and unequaled nobility.” Karen Blixen, Out of Africa.
Have a lovely week. Don’t forget to reuse and recycle. Namaste!
Make a statement, buy one and help support environmental organizations as we will donate a portion of the proceeds to conservation-based organizations such as Kids Saving the Rainforest in Costa Rica, the Nature Conservancy, or one of my personal favorites, Oceana, protecting the World’s Oceans. Because let’s be real, the planet needs help.
