A Ray of Hope – Nidhi Foundation
· Walking on streets, or while sitting in our expensive cars, we witness those little exposed feet, running around the roads, on traffic signals begging for a penny or two just to collect them to have a one-time meal. Those innocent eyes, that could have had big dreams, the torn and dirty clothes that where was a received out of someone’s sympathy, that dripping sweat while our kids sit next to us within an air conditioned environment. It breaks our hearts and makes us dull. But only a few feel the pain of those little kids, and develop a sense of helping the needy, without expecting anything in return.
· Registered under Indian Trust Act, 1882 and established in 2015, Nidhi Foundation is an independent NGO, which is a child right organization, working for the upliftment of the children as well as women from the socially and economically backward sector of the society. We work against the malnutrition and decreased mental development of children. We address the unique needs of the children who belong to underprivileged sector. We have been working and spreading our wings in 3 other states since 2017, delivering lasting results for the vulnerable children. Our program ‘Mission Nutrition’ has effected positively on the lives of 500 children working towards the betterment of the needy.
· Not only the children, we work for the betterment of the women, who strive each day and work hard to support their families, or earn their living. The determination of these women strike hard which gives us a hope to work with and for them. There's this local bread company called Sidewalk Citizen Bakery that was started by my new favourite person, Aviv. I don't actually know Aviv because when he delivers my bread via bike every week someone else in my office makes the parking-lot exchange, but I do know Aviv's bread. And Aviv's bread is amazing, so that's reason enough to make me think he's amazing too — because everyone knows you have to put goodness into bread to make it good, people. But he also donates part of the bakery's proceeds to this really great education charity called CODE (http://www.codecan.org/), if you're the kind of person who needs more concrete proof of his goodness. I doubt Aviv needs any more business at this point, so I'm not really posting this to help him sell bread. I just find it annoying that people (including myself) are more apt to make comments about the things that piss them off than things they think are great, so I've decided to put as much or more effort into championing the things I love as I do bitching about the things I hate. Today I love Sidewalk Citizen Bakery. A lot.
