The back story of the tank is hinted at in TEA LEAVINGS. In Thomas’ AU, De Writer is an ancient and powerful mage, infamous for the bizarre teas that he finds and inflicts on his friends! He was after a special tea held in a secret warehouse in OUR China. The T82 was stolen from a Russian arsenal and used in the “acquisition” of the tea to conceal the extradimensional nature of the, um, “borrowing” of tea considered a State Treasure.
Not wanting the T82 to go to waste, De Writer gave it to Dashie with the results that we know!
A.C. Gilbert's Atomic Energy Laboratory set ($42.50 or about $537 today) came with a Wilson Cloud Chamber, Geiger counter, and guide for prospecting for uranium

A note about the two stories that I posted before I left.
They are set in the delightful AU of
Thomas the Writer
who has a wonderful blog and has been my friend for a long time.
We have been doing a long standing running gag about De Writer's amazing(ly dangerous and/or bizarre) teas. That got worked into both tales.
He commissioned SUPRISE PARTY for a set price.
EDUCATIONAL TOY grew out of a part that had to be trimmed to meet Thomas' budget. It was too much fun not to develop into its own tale, which I did. I gave it to him as a gift for so much friendship over so many years.
