In re-reading sotr I was wondering why they’d lay out the tribute’s plates in district order around the cornucopia for the gong.
On first read I thought it was another way of helping distinguish a tribute’s origin to the audience, like the colour coding. But then I was wondering which district would be the worst off from that arrangement and it hit me: District Three. Ampert.
Three has One and Two to one side, and Four and Five to their other. The worst odds of the bunch. It was another way of targeting Ampert for a bloody death, with Beetee forced to watch.

Early days of the space race with the launch of the Little Joe II, Aug 1963. The rocket was used 5x for uncrewed tests of the launch escape system of Apollo spacecraft between 1963-66. At 86 feet in height, it was the smallest of the 4 launch rockets during the Apollo era.
