I’m a bit behind on #the100dayproject, but I’m keeping at it at my own pace.🙂 Day 3/100 of #100daysofEDGEspecies: Chinese Giant Salamander. This species is the world’s largest amphibian and can grow up to 1.8 metres long! It is one of only three living species of giant salamander in the Cryptobranchidae family. This family diverged from all other amphibians over 170 million years ago during the Jurassic Period, making it one of the most evolutionary isolated families on the amphibian evolutionary tree. Wow!😲 They are unfortunately listed as Critically Endangered due to habitat loss, water pollution, and over exploitation of wild populations. 🌱 Learn more about EDGE species @zsledgeofexistence. . . . . . #100dayproject #the100dayproject2019 #chinesegiantsalamander #giantsalamander #salamander #amphibians #animaldrawings #animaldoodles #dailyartpractice #digitaldoodle #procreateart #carveouttimeforart #makearteveryday #endangeredspecies #educationthroughart #artchallenges #allcreaturesgreatandsmall #wildwhimsywoolies https://www.instagram.com/wildwhimsywoolies/p/BwIRX83A9C5/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=o8ruemtr0riv
