TING... fresh out the kiln. Three oval plaques in white porcelain created at Turning Earth studios in Dalston last month. I drew the portraits in glaze pencil on fired porcelain, which was then fired again to seal and set the image.

The finished surface is beautifully tactile and the drawings have a faint blue/green tint up close. Each plate is signed and dated (Sept 2014) on the back. Tumblr pervert @abeardedboy features on one. These pieces were quite spontaneous, a product of some spare time and the tutelage of Cottage Industries' Will Martin. Not sure when I'll get the chance to make some more but a plan is coming together...

Polari Magazine are running a series of features about graphic art and illustration this week. I guess they're saving the best til last, because look who they kicked off the week with.

I can finally announce my second solo show this year! It takes place in Edinburgh next month at Wallace's Art House.

I lived in Glasgow back in the early 00s, had paintings in a few galleries, took an office job, wrote a novel (abandoned after 3 drafts), got bored and moved down to London to study animation so I could develop an animated series (and got distracted by VJing). This is my first time back in Scotland in 10 years! It's during the legendary Fringe Festival so who knows whether anybody will be interested in an exhibition. Only one way to find out.

The 2014 Huguenot Threads Festival starts on July 9th, celebrating the silk-weaving roots of Spitalfields with a week of tours, discussions and events. No. 31 will be opening its doors to the curious on the 12th, 15th and 17th of July; unveiling an archive of beautifully detailed Rouen silk velour patterns for the first time. These are original antique documents from the 1850s, and they're available for purchase at £30-£40 each.

This exhibition runs parallel to Edward Firth's solo show, which will continue throughout on the first floor.
