At the very least Edward could tell her emotions were genuine, he had learned to read her very easily during the time they spent together, but on the other hand he had no idea she was planning to leave when she did, she was even smart enough to keep her thoughts quiet around him as to not raise any suspision.
“Not much has changed in your absence.” Edward said plainly, glancing out the window of his home finding it hard to look into her eyes without feeling the same ache that he felt when she left. “My family seem at least thrilled to see you return.” He remarked after a moment.
When you left, the voices in my head only grew stronger. I wondered for so long if It was something I did, something I said. If I did things differently would that have changed your decision to leave?- Why didn’t you share your feelings with me? Do you not trust me?
