At the very least Edward could tell her emotions were genuine, he had learned to read her very easily during the time they spent together, but on the other hand he had no idea she was planning to leave when she did, she was even smart enough to keep her thoughts quiet around him as to not raise any suspision.

“Not much has changed in your absence.” Edward said plainly, glancing out the window of his home finding it hard to look into her eyes without feeling the same ache that he felt when she left. “My family seem at least thrilled to see you return.” He remarked after a moment.

When you left, the voices in my head only grew stronger. I wondered for so long if It was something I did, something I said. If I did things differently would that have changed your decision to leave?- Why didn’t you share your feelings with me? Do you not trust me?

Edward could tell the other was approaching before he even opened the shower door, if it wasn’t for his very heightened senses picking up on his increasing heart rate; it would be the fact Edward could hear his very LOUD thoughts that got cruder the closer he got to him. Edward found it slightly amusing how little control he seemed to have, how with every passing second his thoughts just got more passionate. Edward faced him now, aiming the shower head playfully at the other getting him a little wet. “Are you enjoying the show?” Edward asked with a sarcastic tone.

Edward felt a warmth In his chest that was impossible to feel physically and yet here he was, her love had touched him in places he wasn’t even sure existed anymore. If he had a heartbeat it would only best for her, so instead he’d dedicate his whole being to her instead. “-you really are a thing of poetry, love.” He whispered softly, reaching a hand up letting his fingertips delicate caress her cheek as he gazed into her eyes. A moment didn’t go by where Edward didn’t think of her, his mind was constantly filled with thoughts her and her thoughts alone. “I love you, more than I can say or express with words. There will never be a moment in my existence where I don’t remember the time we’ve spent together and think of it fondly.”

Physically all that remained inside of Edward was a frozen casket of what was once human, empty with no sign of life and yet hearing the other agree to his proposal sent a wave of unfamiliar warmth wash over him. As if for just a split second, he felt human again. He tried to bite back the smile threatening at his lips, he moved towards her slowly and carefully as he took her cheek in his hand. Edward didn’t often joke around but she brought a softer side out of him at times, “-you sure?” He asked once more, a clear tease in his eyes as he leaned in.
