#PeaseHouse in #Darlington is the former home of #EdwardPease, known as the father of the railways. Pease promoted the benefits of the #railway in the 19th Century and worked with George Stephenson, the inventor of ‘The Rocket’. Pease died in 1858, but commemorations to him can be found throughout this railway town.
