I have not sent anything to this blog in MONTHS but I am back because I am absolutely losing my mind. I literally started panicking when I saw Hornigold on screen to a degree that I have never experienced bc of kin reasons before. A part of me genuinely felt like I was about to die. I mean, I knew he was awful when I worked for him, but I guess I didn't realize just how badly that affected me until that moment 💀

Canon recs: i played a lot of yardies (you climb up the ship and jump into the waters from the main mast) and it was so fun until I didn't clear the ship, and I fucked up my knee lol. But other than that, I played a bunch of card games. Particularly rummy.

Carryovers: I'm still incredibly terrified of bugs. I have a tense relationship with spiders, moths, ladybugs, bees, and caterpillars. But everything else is. Ugh.

Canon headcanons: Izzy has autism and Ed has AuDHD (leaning more towards ADHD), and Stede has AuDHD (leaning more towards autism). (Ofmd)

Canon drugs: I used a lot of opium for pain management. Then, for more than pain management bc I totally had a good relationship with drugs(/s). Rhino horn was also used, but very briefly, my drug of choice was always opium. If I had been alive in modern times I definitely would have just smoked weed ngl

I keep trying to figure out my shit. I don't know what I felt about Stede. I know I loved him, loved being around him, and remember feeling comforted by his presence and that I was with him. But I didn't love him as much as I loved Izzy. I don't miss him as much as I miss Izzy. I miss him, yeah, but more like the way you miss a comfort item you had as a child that you lost. I dont have the aching grief I do for Izzy. I dont think about him as much as I think about Izzy.

I feel. Bad about it. I miss him, I love him, but not really? I can live without him, but it feels wrong to be living without my first mate. I feel so guilty about it, too. I feel like I lied to him, like I'm not the correct way I'm supposed to be. Im supposed to love him, want him, need him. Search for him. But I don't want to. I don't need him. I don't mind if I never see him again (it would be nice if we met again though).

I only want Izzy. Being without him is like being without part of my soul.

Sorry, Stede. I really did love you. You're just not him.

Ask game!

Mundane memories: i remember laying in bed with my Stede at the inn. The room was dark and I laid there next to him and held his hand while I stared at the ceiling. I was sad about something, but just having his warmth next to me was pretty comforting.

Canon divergence: my Izzy had a slightly different body shape than in canon, and my Stede had blue eyes?? Very minor stuff but 🧍‍♂️
