ARGHHH I just re-read your Jayvik kitties fic for like the fifth and I just came back here Again to say how much I love it, like truly, one of my fics of all time. It also reminds me of one of my cats who I really miss since I moved out 💔plus the way you explore Vi’s character through the lens of kitty Viktor is just…so touching.

Shit im just seeing this now and man im so grateful you’re touched by that fic :) it’s one of my favorite things that I’ve written bc i feel I was able to just go with my creative flow and not be critical of the random ass au I chose . Thanks sm again for sharing your thoughts! I think I have another ask from you from a whileeeee ago that I need to respond to as well once I get a chance :-)

Hello again! I’m back to show my appreciation for the most recent chapter, don’t mind me :)

Firstly, Wow! What a chap title.

“Careful not to loose your sponsorship to an intro-level course, the girl sneers suddenly.”

Ahhhh we’re barely 11 paragraphs in and already I’m in love all over again. The fact that house Talis is constantly considered to be a lower house is honestly too underutilised by the fandom, and you’ve managed to explore it in such an interesting way!!

“Cait, I’m not trying to replace you. You’re my best friend. Nobody’s gonna change that.” Oh they’re such losers (affectionate). The moment when your closest friend is the child of the people sponsoring you/the young adult your parents sponsor. Oh I love them.

“The most he’s ever seen her cry was when one of the dobermans, a sleek male by the name Caster, passed away last year.” I don’t know where the headcannon that Caitlyn owns Dobermans came from, but I love it, It just fits her personality, I don’t know why.

“Where have you been keeping this poor boy.” Oh Ximena how I adore you.

“First of all, there’s no such thing because you men never grow up.” Oh Ximena how I adore you. 🥰


“You better bring that boy every week. I’ve seen the state of things, there’s no hiding him now. If we don’t start piling food into him-“

Jayce; Mama, this is my partner Viktor.

Ximena, nodding,: Yes, our Viktor.

Jayce: Thats not what I said-

Ximena: Hush.

“Viktor is there, and, without even meaning to, breaks through the rehearsed song and dance over the years.” Ahhh I love this line. Something about the idea that the Talises are used to performing for Piltover, to prove that they belong there, only to have be confronted by Viktor, who doesn’t believe in performative roles and tears down their expectations is beautiful.

“It’s hard to be in Piltover with an imperfect family after all. Jayce’s father had dies early on, and with Ximena being an immigrant, assimilation was never as effortless as they would have liked everyone to believe.” Oh I love this so so much.

“Viktor wants to know them.” I’ve said this before, but I truly love how you portray Viktor, he has so much love and care in him and people tend to ignore that, so thank you for this portrayal <3.

“Jayce has known hardship, especially since his mother passed last year.” That whole section is just..wow. I knew it would be coming but I still hadn’t truly prepared myself for it. The control the Giopara’s have as well as the way you layout why Jayce G is like this,,, just wow. Even if I hadn’t already read the chapter before coming to write this, the line “Over the years, he does learn.” Perfectly lines up the argument™️ that we all know is coming, and just why Jayce T is so different from G (at least,,, in presentation of themselves). AdditionallyI think it goes such a long way into describing Jayce G’s character, he’s not just an asshole, but a product of Piltover. He’s not just egotistical, but has been told he’s brilliant since he was a child, so long as he kept performing properly that is. Honestly just brilliant.

“”Well,” Jayce cracks a smile. It’s been several months since they’ve been paired together on a project, and he’s enjoying as always the easy banter they share. “But of course. I am, after all, the owner of science.”” Oooh domestic Vikjayce my beloveds.

I’m not going to quote it because there’s too much I love in it, but Viktor sticking up for Jayce against Pellan was such a great scene. Viktor’s refusal to accept Piltover rules, Jayce internally panicking it’s all great. Additionally, having re-read this chapter it really hones in on this idea of Viktor sticking up for Jayce, and Jayce not wanting It versus Jayce not sticking up for Viktor when he wants it later, both times because Jayce plays into the Piltover rules, he’s aware that they’re wrong, but believes they’re fundamentally unchangeable. Bravo 👏

“”That’s what I’m here for! That’s all I’m good-“ Viktor is looking at him with equal portions of awe and sorrow.”

Ohhh it’s soo good. Jayce Giopara my beautiful princess with a disorder.

Again, I’m not going to quote because otherwise we’ll be here forever, but the fight scene? The way it doesn’t get resolved but instead they just skirt around it? Amazing. Truly it’s perfect.

“”Stolen!” Viktor bursts into Jayce’s office,” oh ohhh nooooo D: . Like with Ximena, I knew it was coming, but was still wholly unprepared.

“Jayce remembers the first time it happened to him; he’d been young, barely even fifteen, and had been in the process of revising the wording of the synopsis of his study when suddenly his data had been sold to someone else-“

Oh Eebor your brilliant mind! I had never even considered this as a possibility, and yet you weave it into the fabric of cannon so well I adore it.

“”Who do I need to speak to? I’ll file a million fucking complaints.” This is how things work. “I-I’m not sure,” Jayce admits slowly.”

Again, a beautiful contrast between Viktor trying to “change the world” and Jayce being so convinced that it cannot be changed, he has no clue where one would even start.

“Instead, Jayce says nothing.” Ohhh eeboor whyyyyyyyyyy. (I knew it was coming, but still.)

“Jayce tries to drown the memory in alcohol, and sometimes he succeeds.”

What an ending. Wow. Truly left staring at my phone screen in shock. The way the chapter serves to show the similarities between both Jayce’s performative roles within Piltover, and both Viktor’s desires to see past these roles, with varying degrees of success? Masterfully done. As always, a joy to read. Thank you very much Eeboor for your brilliant ideas. <3

This might sound a bit weird but I’m just gonna go for it, I noticed that you’d liked/reblogged some of my Vikjayce blogs on my actual account @whispertothewillows and realised I was following you but couldn’t remember why, which is when I realised that you’re the owner of the Jayvik kitty fic!! Which honestly became one of my favourite fics of all time ever. The line “This is his Jayce, and Jayce has no say in whether or not he belongs to Viktor. He won’t get away that easily.” actually changed my brain chemistry tbh. Then I realised that you’re also the author of the Jayce body-swap fic that I’d had on my list to read for ages! I read the description weeks ago and had been putting off reading it until I finished my exams, using it as motivation basically. I didn’t want to read it when I started them because I knew that I’d be sucked in an unable to think of anything else, and I was right!!! I genuinely binged all three chapters in half an hour and then went back and re-read more just last night!

It’s so so good. I honestly think your characterisation of Vikjayce is my favourite I’ve ever read, and they haven’t even interacted yet!!! (Looking forward to the flashbacks next chapter 👀👀) there’s something both so tender and also cruel in seeing what your life could’ve been under different circumstances that I think you portray so well, and I am in love with your writing style. I just thought I’d come on here and l share how much I enjoyed it lmao! Sorry for the rant!

so so SOOOO important to me that giopara is significantly better at being a councilor than talis is. or at least he’s less naive. the contrast… the fact that he already knows it’s the work of jinx is making me jittery for an indescribable reason. AND THEN. and then the WAY HE CANNOT HIDE HIS DISTRESS AT REALIZING VIKTOR IS TERMINALLY ILL. OOOOOH. OHHHH. THAT WHOLE SCENE.

VIKTOR SLAPPING HIM. god. GOD. FUCK MY LIFE. EVERYONE EXPLODE. that was so important to me. that he’d defend his jayce no matter what. that he cares so much and so deeply for talis and giopara never had that and he seemingly fucked up his only chance at getting it, from both his viktor and this one. i need to kill someone.
