She could feel it now - a headache beginning to pulse at the back of her head. It was enough to make her stomach drop and her palms sweat, though Lux silently pushed any thoughts of panic away. Taking in a deep breath, she shook her head and idly rubbed at her eyes with the heels of her hands, though the pulsing sensation was steadily growing worse. The chattering in the background of the usually quiet coffee shop was only irritating her further as she mumbled something under her breath about stupid spring break allowing the high school students to overtake the place on the corner down the street from her apartment. Rather than stew in aggravation and allow her headache to transcend into something much worse (a headache didn’t mean a migraine, it could just be a headache, or so she was insistently telling herself), she decided it was time to leave. She wasn’t getting any homework done as it was, so packing up her laptop and her latte was probably in her best interests. She sighed heavily as she dropped the charger for the computer, crouching to collect it with a slight grimace as her head throbbed. As she returned to standing, she felt her hip make contact with something and was immediately greeted with the feeling of coffee splashing all over herself (and likely all over the person she’d bumped into). “Jesus fucking --” was her immediate response as she took an abrupt step back. She took in a breath, and allowed another “---fuck” to follow as she fully stepped aside.
