“Riley, no--!” The little girl darted forward with a maniacal giggle, but as quick as she was, her mother was quicker. Her hand quickly snagged the little girl’s wrist, though in a fit of toddler rage the little girl let out a “no!” and promptly dropped to the ground. The jerk forward unfortunately led to the bag over Minnie’s shoulder to fall to the ground, contents ranging from her cell phone and keys to unfinished lesson plans and coloring sheets fro the children in her class spilling all over the sidewalk. The two-year-old began to cry, skinned knees the result of her tantrum and disobedience, and Minnie sighed before slowly sinking to her own knees. “You need to listen to mommy. You must hold my hand, you need to be safe.” But even with her words, she was pulling the toddler close, trying to keep her balance while consoling her crying toddler with one hand and scrambling to collect papers a the wind began to blow with the other.
