So, I love Wanda the witch. Would you like to see her teaching witchcraft to another woman? Maybe someone younger. Nico Minoru. Megan Gwynn. I keep seeing people saying that Wanda isn't a witch and I wonder if I've missed something and came up with the idea that she's a witch on my own. Are her powers really scientific in nature?

No, she’s definitely a witch. People get confused because there’s a lot of bad fandom osmosis with Wanda. It can be hard to get an accurate picture of what her history is like because it’s convoluted and doesn’t lend itself to bite-sized explanations.

Wanda did train another witch in the 80′s in the second volume of Vision and the Scarlet Witch, and she helped Pixie for one scene a few years ago. I’d like to see that come up again, either with Megan or an original character.

I’d like almost anything that centered around Wanda’s relationship with another female character, instead of more unnecessary relationship drama, but I’d also just like for Wanda to appear in a comic book. It’s pretty boring around here.

I was thinking a lot about magic and... Do you think other comics publishing companies do a better job than Marvel Comics when it comes to magical characters? Also, which witch (doesn't have to be a Marvel character) would you like to see Wanda interacting with?

I don’t like the Homo Magi thing in the DC universe, where magic users are like wizards in Harry Potter and inherit their powers from their ancestors. I don’t like “magic blood” in general and prefer magic be something anyone can learn. Of course, Wanda has a silly retcon now where she has magic blood because fuck my life, I guess.

Beyond that, I think magic in the DC universe works better as a story element than magic in the Marvel universe. That’s looking at the overall picture since specific stories vary widely. There’s a reason Marvel copies DC quite a bit when it comes to magic, and it’s because DC has found better ways to integrate magic into their universe.

I’m surprised they still haven’t tried to do Avengers Dark, tbh. I wouldn’t complain if they did.*

Witches I want to see Wanda interact with: Elaine from The Love Witch, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Ginny Weasley, and Jennifer Kale (an actual Marvel character!).

*They were definitely going to reboot Midnight Sons recently, but it seems like the book wasn’t picked up.

"I’m quite literally shocked. I’m glad they reverted to her old headdress though. I wanted to completely redo the design and wasn’t happy with the compromise we landed on." Kevin Wada tweeted this when asked about his take on Wanda's costume. How do you feel about Wada's design and the headdress? Unrelated to MUA3: What do you think about Wanda fashionably wearing the X in the comics and getting to interact with characters like Storm, (adult) Jean, Nightcrawler, Namor?

Hmm. I assume he’s talking specifically about the tiara when he says he wanted to “completely redo the design.” He had some other tiara designs that were radically different from the original, and I wouldn’t have minded something different. I think I like the final product more than he does, though I’m concerned about how she turns her head without being smacked in the face by beads.

As for the costume overall, it looks cool. I don’t like the black pants, but it’s an interesting aesthetic. On the other hand, I’m at a point in my superhero comics-reading life where I keep wondering, ‘Why the cleavage?’ Can Wanda have one superhero costume without cleavage? That hasn’t happened in a long, long time, and when it did happen, she got stuck with boob socks.

I understand that, when they were brainstorming this design, the editors wanted something that was sexy and not especially practical. That’s fair, but we’ve never seen Wanda in a costume that wasn’t designed to be sexy. I think it’s time for her to get an outfit that isn’t designed to show off her boobs. That’s my mood today. Why? I’ve got two guesses: 1) I know what words people google search to find my blog, and wow, are they focused on boobs. 2) Poison Ivy is currently naked. She just walks around naked now. I’m tired. I’m so tired.

ANYWAY, the rest of this ask is a weird coincidence because I was thinking recently about how I’d like to see Wanda incorporate an X into her costume in some kind of alternate universe. I’ve been wasting time mulling over the idea of Ultimates-style reboot where things were started from scratch with a modern spin (though not in an Ultimates way), and I thought it would be cool to have Wanda wear an X somewhere. Doing it in 616 is more complicated because *waves hands at continuity* history. You’d have to deal with some stuff for that to not be awkward.

But I would like to see her interact with some X characters,, even though I understand why people don’t want to write that.
