“Kaffas!” Dorian cursed, slipping into his native tongue in his anger. He had finally escaped his madman of a father. Left the country without a hitch. Crossed the border into Orlais. Easy. No problem there. But he made one mistake: he hadn’t brought a map. Nor had he ever even been to Orlais. He had left his phone at his parents’ home, not trusting Halward Pavus not to track him down. So, here he was. Middle of the woods. Dead car. His forehead pressed against the steering wheel, hands on either side gripping it tightly. He sighed, giving himself a moment before unbuckling himself. Fuck it. He had not come all this way to die in the middle of the woods. Who knew what kind of beasts lurked out there...
He left the car with his backpack, inside which held the very few items he was able to run with. He pushed his glasses up, a determined look on his face. He had his plan. He would scope out the area, looking for a place to rest that wasn’t in dark, scary woods. If it took too long, he’d come back to the car and wait for the sun to rise. He could handle this. He swallowed hard as he started his search, leaves and twigs crunching under his boots. Did he mention he hated nature? Because, truly, he despised nature. More so in this moment than any other. Especially now with his fine, beautiful clothes getting spattered with mud.
He took in a light gasp as he took a misstep, foot slipping and sending him sliding down a long hill. Kaffas, kaffas, kaffas! He eventually comes to a stop, but not without tumbling over a large rock head-first and gaining several cuts and bruises. He lands with a thump, letting out a small groan as his vision started to sway. He looked to the distance, trying to gain his bearings. Was that...a castle? Out here? His vision started to fade, mind slowing as he saw a shadow approach him from a short distance. Fuck. Was this how he was going to go? What a waste...
“I’m...Dorian of House Pavus...you won’t- you can’t-” He began to warn, voice turning slightly pleading before his vision faded; the man falling unconscious only a second later.
