One day, maybe in the final days of their human life, Asa and Anthony feel complied to pick up that snowglobe thing that has been on their mantelpiece for the last twenty years, gathering dust.

He doesn't know why, but today, Asa feels like turning it upside down, and watch the snow fall on that red bookshop front.

And then, just like that, just with a blink of his eyes, eons of memories come back. He turns to his husband.

"Oh," he says. "Crowley..."

"Hello, angel."

Antony Crowley had a bizarre dream; a medley of images that no longer made sense after he woke up. The daily routine quickly pulled him away from the memory of it, but as he was walking home back from the university later that day, he thought of it again. He rarely had such vivid dreams, let alone so fantastical...

Lost in thought, he turned right one street further than his usual route. That's how he spotted the bookshop, really. He stepped in, not thinking much of it, and was greeted by a kind and handsome face.

Funny, that it should happen that way.

It was a nice day.

I'm an absolute sucker for soulmates so good they find each other in every universe.

I really wanted to play with the idea of Aziraphale and Crowley's love being so powerful it imprinted on the new world, the seeds of it lying dormant for millennia until it blooms again.

I also love thinking about how a single choice can change one's life. Had he not taken the next turn right, Crowley would've never met Asa. Now, if one believes in the supernatural, perhaps someone gave him a nudge ;)

Details:

The piece transitions from purples and pinks to earthy tones. I tend to draw the celestials with sort of a soap-bubble/oil slick palette that gives it this ethereal feeling; For Tony and Asa I wanted to move towards earthy tones.

My goal for the dream panel was to make it feel almost like you are in a primordial space: twisting dark scales, suggestions of things, fragments. The essence of an angel and a demon like rich soil for things to grow from.

Had lots of fun drawing this, it was almost meditative.

My favourite headcanon, which many of us seem to agree on, is that Anthony walks past the bookshop several times before gathering the courage to step in. --- So that's why Derek was so sure Anthony likes Asa. 🤣 --- @goodomensafterdark

If we had more than 90 minutes, would we have gotten a “warm close” to mimic our Season 1 “cold open” of the Ineffables Through the Ages? Something beyond the cheeky and clever closing title to really give us the Ineffables Through the Universes?

Welcome to A Warm Close: Through the Universes! 

A Good Omens fan event where the only fixing we’re doing is fixing Amazon’s budget and making all the different universes that our beloved Ineffables keep appearing in!

If you’re a Good Omens creator tickled by the tag “All Good Omens Fanfiction is Canon” and excited about the snow globe sitting in Asa and Anthony’s garden, especially when paired with the book quote: “The universe is just something small and round, like those water-filled balls which produce a miniature snowstorm when you shake them.” This event is for you!

Guidelines:

You should create a fanfic, fanart, fan edit, or other fanwork that explores Aziraphale/Crowley (or their alter egos: Asa/Anthony) in an Alternate Universe (a Snow Globe, if you will). 

This is a "Continuation of Canon" that celebrates our new “All Good Omens Fanfiction is Canon" tag. Therefore, there are no “Fix-Its”! This event assumes that the finale implies the existence of multiple universes. Works should be made with the idea of being "slice of life" segments that, if we had a full six episodes, would combine with other works to make 30 minutes of lots of versions of the Ineffables together in many different snow globes. 

All ratings are welcome and all participants are welcome. 

Artists should aim for one fully completed piece.

Video Editors should aim for at least a 45 second video featuring MS or DT in other roles to make a new version of the Ineffables together

Writers should aim for at least 1k words. We recommend no more than 5k words to make it to posting – but you do you, boo. No one is going to complain if you write a novel.

A collection will be created on Archive of Our Own for completed pieces. Creators can also use the hashtag #warmclose when posting on social media!

June 1 - June 30 : Creation Period

July 1 - July 31 : Posting Period
