Laundry is a chore that very few people like to do and even fewer people give it very much thought.  This lack of thought and consideration could be washing your money right down the drain.  While we are all creatures of habit, a few small changes can make a difference on that monthly power bill.

Here are a couple great points to help you stop washing your money down the drain:

(weather permitting) AIR DRY your clothing on the line outside.  Not only will it save you money, but your clothes will smell great!

STOP doing anything but FULL loads of laundry.  Half loads are wasteful and inefficient (a medium load does not save 50% of the energy and water)

When using the dryer use the SPIN CYCLE or wring your clothes out before transferring to the dryer (shortens drying time)

DO NOT USE HI TEMPERATURE wash setting unless clothes are considerably soiled - The Hi temperature setting uses considerably more power and is not much more effective

CLEAN THE LINT TRAP on the Dryer EVERY TIME - This prevents fires but also makes the dryer more efficient and shortens drying time
