Excuse me if I’ll post about something that’s totally far from my blog site’s topic. I know this isn’t about breakfast at all but I just want to talk about something very important. Just the other night, I watched a segment on the evening news that triggered the environmentalist in me. The show featured the plodding depletion of our renewable energy resources. If you’re not familiar with these, they are resources that are used to generate electricity which are now in danger of running out over our lifetime. Examples of these include petroleum, gas and fossil fuels. As we continuously use these to power our homes, businesses and industries, they are slowly depleting. And it may not only take years or decades for these resources to replenish. In fact, it may take centuries.
And all these made think. What are we going to do when we no longer have fossil fuels, gas and petroleum to make our daily lives convenient and comfortable? So I remembered, of course! We have sustainable energy sources that we can take advantage of. As early as now, we should start moving away from non-sustainable energy and start switching to green and sustainable solutions that are not only eco-friendly but are also efficient. Meaning, when they are used in conjunction with specially designed products, they can reduce the amount of energy that we use for our appliances, gadgets, electronics and even cars. Examples of sustainable sources include solar, hydroelectric, wind, wave, geothermal and tidal.
If this post doesn’t make you think about how you use your electricity, I don’t know what else will. Maybe you should check out National Geographic to learn more about this. Remember, if we don’t change now, nothing will be left for the future generations to use. So for this very reason, I’m calling my most trusted home builder in Boroondara VIC today to see if there are solutions that I can take advantage of. I am thinking about making my home solar-powered. Will update you once the project ensues!
