lowkey im considering dabbling in vegetarianism. Or atleast consuming less meat. Which is ironic cuz my dad runs a butchery
I feel very honoured that you’re telling me this. I recommend beans and lentils and potatoes !! That’s all you’ll ever need ^_^
This has been said a million times but the easiest way to reduce carbon emissions with your diet is to stop consuming ruminants, so like cows and lamb. Their digestive system causes them to fart and burp methane, which is wouldn’t be so bad if we didn’t constantly breed them. Not only that, they take up a lot of land use in order to grow crops for their food. This is true with all animals however since cows produce methane they’re usually considered the worst part of the animal agriculture industry. At least if you only look at it from an environmental perspective. Which I actually don’t I think it has much more about respecting the animals life and it is inherently cruel to breed someone into existence just to kill them but that’s apparently a controversial opinion,, anyways
Since you’re also a minor it’s pretty difficult to actually control what you eat. I know that my parents really don’t want me to quit meat. I don’t know why you’re considering vegetarianism, if it’s for the animals or the climate or both, but don’t feel all too guilty if you still end up eating meat. It’s really really difficult, at least for me, especially when I decided I wanted to be vegetarian and then just had my wishes disrespected. But you learn to deal with it.
Also if you get interested in veganism I recommend @/acti-veg, they’re basically THE vegan blog.
Urrrhhh I’m sorry if this is a lot but this made me so ridiculously happy, good luck!!!
