Yet Another Deltarune Theory:
The Dark Shards Are Pieces Of Gaster; Jevil Doesn't Actually Know He is In a Videogame; How Spamton and Jevil Became Bloodthirsty Bitches
(Continue down for theory 👇)
Holy shit... I just thought of something related to deltarune that sort of clicked in my mind...
What if the dark shards collected from the secret bosses are pieces of gaster?
Now, hear me out: deltarune is technically an Alternate Universe from Undertale, But,
There are multiple instances where it is evident Gaster is going to be pretty prominent through this game, especially due to the beginning character building sequence easter egg.
Gaster was said to be split into pieces across space and time, right? Well, what if those pieces happened to gather into a DIFFERENT universe than Undertale, ie Deltarune? Plus, what makes even more sense is the line, 'Dark, Dark, yet Darker' within gaster's old diolog. It could be talking about The Dark Worlds, of which, coincidentally, hold Dark Shards that hold the ability to peer into a world where the lights are on. This could intact be disproven later on due to only Chapter 2 being released at this time, however, maybe if not disproven in chapters 3, 4, and 5, it may remain a possibility.
Anyway, On another note following up the whole 'the secret bosses hold a piece of gaster'... I'm sure that gaster actually didn't intend for jevil to go insane.... here's why:
I do not believe jevil knows of the player, or the outside world from our perspective... he knows of the LIGHTWORLD'S players, because Jevil is a playing-card. Everyone in their world is a toy, or plaything in the lightner world. I believe that Gaster, with what limited form they could hold, gave Jevil a part of them in hopes of being put back together, aka, The First Dark Shard...
However, this came with a consequence Wing Dings, didn't expect... Jevil looked directly through the shard SAW everything happening in the light world, going ballistic at the sight.
The Jester probably witnessed everyone being played as a game... everyone being a mere toy to the lightners. They were Disposable, junk, just waiting to be left behind. He had learned the truth, so decided if lightners were going to treat their world as just a game, he would play along. He took his knowledge to the public of kaard castle in hopes of breaking the citizens free of their shackles... but got imprisoned for putting people in distress, and by his own partner no less. He soon went mad with the lack of social interaction, leading jevil's games to be far more... deadly... maybe jevil secretly hoped a lightner's soul can help set the others free from the knowledge they lack. It's a bunch of what is since there isn't enough parts yet to really round out the plot regarding the secret bosses.
The prior concept is the same for Spamton, however, Gaster, probably realizing the consequence of directly handing a dark shard In the hands of a potential savior, hid the shard somewhere he knew someone would find it without directly coming into contact... this lead Spamton to find the shard in the neosuit in his time of need when Mike left him to financially bite the dust... he looked in the neosuit and in his own words saw: '[[H E A V E N]]'
This theory spawned from a comic I saw, which eventually helped me snap the puzzle pieces together about Jevil Aswell.
But- as stated before, all of this is a mere theory and a personal headcanon until proven otherwise 😉
Anyway What are your opinions on this theory??
I must knowwwww
