Reminder.... look at Orbot and Cubot.............
As I’m rewatching Sonic Boom, Eggman Unplugged particularly stuck out to me. When Eggman decides to completely rid his life of all technology, he still keeps Orbot and Cubot around. His excuse for not discarding them is they’re “nothing more than a glorified paper weight.” It’s obvious throughout the show that he doesn’t like the two robots, so why does he bother keeping them around?
Eggman continues leading a life devoid of technology-- that is until Orbot and Cubot power down when a switch is accidentally pressed in Eggman’s lair. His immediate response is: “I’m all alone here...”
It’s this moment that Eggman decides to go back to his technological ways and reboot Orbot and Cubot.
He didn’t build Orbot and Cubot to be useful
He built them because he doesn’t want to be alone.
“You are???”
Orbot and Cubot’s reaction to Dr Eggman saying he’s glad they’re okay from Eggman Unplugged.
