Etienne wants to either be more at peace with their inability to bear children or to be able to do so.

Adi ... I hate to say it, but he’d probably “decide” to be straight. He associates that with being the single “wrong” thing with him that cascaded into the effect of him being exactly the opposite sort of person his father would have ever wanted as a son. Surely if he’d been straight, he would have grown into a carbon-copy of his father, and his life path would have been very different. Deep down, he simply wishes he could’ve been capable of conforming because he still believes the spiritual core of his father’s indoctrination. He wishes he could have wholeheartedly gone with his family’s life plan for him. While he’s long understood that he can’t conform, he hasn’t absorbed the lesson that it should never have been a problem.

Kadin would like to fix his brain. Just enough so that he doesn’t lose time and stuff.

Pelhi wants to grow into a more aggressive person. It’s her tendency to simply say things aren’t her business, and walk away from things that bother her rather than trying to make a difference about it - whether it was her conflicts with her family (and her own personal guilt at Kadin’s mistreatment), or her job in the Flames and her feeling helpless to really do anything about the corruption in Ul’dah. It’s easier to simply say it’s not her fault, not her business, and simply go on her way. She hates this, though, and she wants to change.

What is your OC like when they dance?

(Elliot’s v light on his feet and bouncy so he’s a lot of fun to dance with. He’s all smiles and he’s attuned closer to the tempo than others, too. He’s def best with ballroom dances, lively or not. His father dances with him sometimes when they’re bored, plus Elliot goes to enough social events to learn how to deal w all kinds of dance partners. That said, he looks p stupid doing dances that are choreographed like the cha-cha slide or macarena–he gets too into it lol (and for the love of Halone, NO rap).)

Nolanel is much more stiff–he’s all nerves, he doesn’t practice, and chances are he doesn’t know the dance anyway. He’s more used to just linking arms and swinging and spinning, probably drunk, with another soldier. With slower things, he can do the box step w/o thinking, but if he’s composed and can hear the music well, he moves naturally and (with the help of his uniform) looks p graceful.

If by “wondrous bog” you mean “smelly, miserable peat bog next to a distillery in not!Scotland”, or “dreary swamp in war-ravaged in not!Germany”, then absolutely!

It's not flower language, but maybe writer could use the separate male flowers and female flowers of a monoecious/dioecious plant if that would work symbolically for male-female counterparts in a spell??

That is an excellent addition! I’d say dioecious plants might be the better choice in the long run, because they are easier to tell apart especially for an untrained eye. For example of the English holly, only females can carry berries, and only male kiwis have flowers with pollen. Furthermore, it always requires both male and females plants to produce fruit in case of dioecious plants.

Dioecious plants always come in separate “genders”, as in one per plant, (we’re not gonna argue whether or not plants truly need them, but it is true that the terms male and female are used to distinguish dioecious plants), whereas monoecious plants come as both in one on the same plant.

Awaiting the doubtless-exhausted Miss Gwenneth upon return to her guest room is not a bouquet, but a single flower -- a calla lily -- to which has been tied, with red ribbon, a small note that reads only: "To my triumphant Queen."

She was exhausted, perhaps, it was true -- but sleep was not a steadfast friend.

Instead she regarded the lily in silence; its note, unfolded, set to its side. Whatever had she been expecting?  It was, after all, a success; a triumph -- though scarce a handmaid; hardly queen.

In the quiet of her borrowed room, shrugging off her borrowed cloak, she brushed the curls and coils from her hair, unsure if she’d rather a smile or frown on the image she saw in the mirror -- one not yet undressed from the evening’s affair; still glamoured by a fairy’s spell.  Her eyes gazed back, wearied and ruddy. There were flowers in her crown; both shoes still on her feet -- she’d not lost a single one in the night.

But she was contented -- relieved -- by their happiness.  She saw the glimmer of it all in their laughter, in their smiles, in their eyes.

It was everything she hoped they would hope for.

 Yet her reply, in the end, when the bell had since passed midnight, is the shape of an empty dance card, slipped under the door.

On the table of the apartment they've been sharing (for purely professional reasons, of course,) a little bouquet of rose acacia tied to a moss rosebud, pink just peeking out of its furry green sepals. Beneath it is a note folded up around an advertisement for a restaurant. "Do you have time for a detour? It might be fun to try," the note reads. "- Valroit."

Before Pep even reads the note, she can feel her cheeks warming in a sudden blush. But it was from Valroit, after all. Did he even know what those flowers meant? Had someone helped him? Had he been doing extracurricular reading?

Well, there was only one way to find out. A return note is left “Leaving tomorrow on Bellworks business, but I can make it tonight. Meet you here! - Pep”

A sprig of marjoram, clipped from one of the potted herbs in the kitchen, accompanies the note.
