i never thought about this before,,,,,, but shOot you’re right oh man

   i’ve read both series through a few times now, and i read pretty quickly -- if i don’t have too much else going on, i can read through, Lightning Thief to Blood of Olympus, in not much more than a week. and when you read that quickly, that much, the discrepancies, the overarching storylines and developments, they come together in a clearer picture. 

   it’s a lot like binging a TV show -- which i also do often, so i also have a lot of analysis on, say, some Teen Wolf seasons, Yuri on Ice, or Voltron because i’ve watched them front to back several times over. 

   long story short, Rick did some good with HoO, he did some bad, he did some awful pacing, but he really forgot the core values of some characters along the way. i feel like Percy and Jason’s little rivalry is a sign of that.

   I mean, Percy at the end of BoO is also a sign of that, but hey, it’s not like loyalty to his friends was his fatal flaw or anything.
