Jota Aviation's Avro RJ85 G-JOTR climbing away from Guernsey Airport, positioning back to her base at Southend. On the day this shot was taken, the aircraft had operated 2 return trips between Gibraltar and Guernsey in order to bring our 2019 Island Games team home. The aviation arm of the Jota group was founded in 2009, initially to meet the travel and cargo demands of the racing team (Jota Sport) and the motorsport industry. Blue Islands ATR 72-500 G-ISLK seen at Guernsey Airport on Thursday evening operating the weekly "Business Tunnel" return flight back to Jersey in her new livery.⁣ ⁣ Following the collapse of franchise partner Flybe, Blue Islands have introduced new branding and a new livery across their fleet and plan to also base aircraft at Southampton and Exeter airports in order to operate some of Flybe's previously successful domestic routes including to Manchester and Dublin.⁣ ⁣ ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• ⁣ A Business Tunnel is a set day of the week where business people are able to travel to the island on a day return flight to have business meetings that need to be done face-to-face during the Coronavirus pandemic. People using these tunnels, whether on a private charter flight or a commercial flight from Southampton or Jersey have to follow strict guidelines, must not make physical contact with anyone whilst on-island and can only travel between the airport and an agreed meeting room on agreed transport, maintaining social distancing at all times and only with agreement of the Guernsey Government. Boarding my Blue Islands flight to Southampton last September. Following the demise of former franchise partner Flybe and the ongoing Coronavirus situation, Blue Islands have been busy preparing to take over routes once flown by Flybe including Exeter to Jersey and Manchester, Birmingham to Jersey and also Southampton to Manchester and Dublin (slots at Dublin have been awarded).
