V models belong to the Combat subclass and were created by the subordinate function HEPHAESTUS after it determined that humanity's hunting of machines posed a threat.

V1 was the original prototype—a patchwork design whose primary directive was efficient elimination of targets. HEPHAESTUS later deemed this approach inefficient.

The design was based on older Scout-Class machine models.

After observing the effectiveness of military machines from the previous millennium, HEPHAESTUS integrated portions of the ASF-RBO-7 "Gor" combat software, along with technology derived from their successors, the Ghosts, whose armor is capable of self-repair and adaptive reshaping.

As a consequence, the machine is less stable than HEPHAESTUS originally intended.

Following HEPHAESTUS's capture of a Cauldron, the V models were further modified, transitioning into the Demonic subclass.
