i’ve decided he’s like. seventeen years old or some shit. in the sense that he’s only been operating for seventeen years. he definitely does not have the mind of a seventeen year old but has only experienced the world for that amount of time. Does he know everything ever? Yes. Is he still bad at social cues due to the fact that you can’t put facts into practice and expect it to work every time? also yes!

He is the closest to Hudson and was kind of hoping that he’d make it at the end. Sure. Hudson’s rather boisterous and full of dumbass energy. But he’s also the tech guy. I figured there’d be some kind of bond there but also along with Hudson prodding at Bishop and Bishop not being miffed at all.

I think he would like trees a lot, regardless of whether or not he’s actually been to Earth. He’d probably find solace in them.

bishop can hum songs on key but is a bad singer.

He doesn’t laugh often. He finds stuff funny, but usually only cracks a smile at that or states his amusement. It’s more of a reflexive thing (like that one part where he licked his blood from a cut) and when he did laugh for the first time the marines lost their shit

does not understand formalities. you will probably get the phrases “egregiously debilitated” and “we got bigger fish to fry” within the same twenty seconds.

he wears the flight suit even outside operations because it’s the only thing that feels comfortable for him. Hudson thinks Bishop has an entire closet of that same flight suit seven times (he doesn’t)

also we love the idea of agender bishop we will be clinging to this concept like our life depends on it

some of the troops have said ridiculous and outright diabolical things to Bishop when half-awake or intoxicated. He’s just like “ok”.

wow the first draft of aliens is really something

also keeping newt in bc she calls ripley ‘mommy’ so much more often in the script, she got so attached to her even though there was always a chance that they’d both die :(

The thing is I can definitely see this version of Bishop with Lance Henriksen’s “white eyes and android badge” and the ‘alpha numeric code’ on his left hand. it works in the way it does with ‘80s movies that are endearingly weird and a bit goofy.

sometimes you gotta wonder how much of the clan’s individual dispositions are actually part of who they are and what part did they start to make up to get over the fact that they have to spend the rest of their unlives killing people, some innocent, some not

of course their personality beforehand probably shaped how they see killing now
