Playing With Fire || Juliette & Elliott [Flashback: 9/12/2014]
Elliott walked carefully toward the park, pulling at his gloves. When Juliette had offered to teach him, he’d been worried: what if he hurt her? What if he hurt someone else? There was a reason powers that affected other powers were carefully monitored in the Agency. He should have reported the extent of his side-effects in his report; it was ridiculous to keep it hidden when it was such a risk to the town.
Another part of him however, was excited. His pulse raced at the thought of a true power— an active ability that could potentially make him an asset to the team. And who knew? Maybe if he could get a handle on it, then they’d allow him to keep it even after the anti-cure was developed. Maybe they’d decide he was worth the risk. But first he needed to train.
He caught sight of a leggy brunette in the field, not even bothering to look in his direction. The black-haired boy figured she already knew he was coming, so he didn’t bother calling her name, instead letting an eager smile grace his features as he continued up to where she was facing a curve in the path.
"Alright Jules," he finally greeted as he came up onto her, rubbing his hands together before sliding a finger underneath the fabric to begin pulling it off. "How do you— who are you?" his hands froze in place as he caught sight of the young girl that ignored him as she stood unnaturally calm in front of his vampire friend.
The Agent took a second look at the teenager, frowning as he considered her vacant demeanor. He realized that he recognized the look as one who had been compelled; that Juliette had hypnotized and brought out someone to their training session. Blue eyes widened in disbelief as his voice finally managed, “Wait— no. Jules, tell me you aren’t considering what I think you’re asking me to do.”
It wasn’t new for Juliette volunteering to help other people controlling their powers, magic or shifts, even if it could be seen as rare and strange for others, the brunette knew why she offered to help in rare exceptions: She could see the potential in them to use in her own benefit in the future, something that many couldn’t do - think in long term effects, specially the personal benefits. This time however was slightly different, she could see the potential, she had met someone with that ability before but this time to person to learn was Elliot, all because he had taken that ‘cure' weeks ago.
Knowing the dangers of this practice and never forgetting to guard her own integrity, minutes before the meeting Juliette caught a young brunette coming out of her dorm and compelled the girl to follow her without making any questions, without making any noise and to obey every order Juliette gave her and no one else. She told the girl to wait with her where she had arranged the meeting with Elliot and waited to see the guy approaching them, taking a better look at the girl while Juliette remained calm with a smile and her arms crossed.
”Meet Lily, a young fire fairy..Not very powerful yet but enough for this training session.”, the vampire introduced without taking her eyes from the other girl, “She has a free afternoon and her friends think she stood studying in her dorm, if her roommate returns, Lily here left her a note saying that Agent Odin requested a meeting with her.”. Her smile got wider and she finally looked at Elliot, “Perfect cover up and if you kill her, the angel gets blamed!”.
