Egyptian Tea IS a Thing! Continuing with my posts about living in Aswan, Egypt. I have to dedicate a post to tea! Egyptians love their tea. It’s probably safe to say the love it more than shesha (hookah) oh man, that’s pretty neck to neck -both so much a part of every day Egyptian life. I’ll speak shesha in another post. Tea at hone. Tea at the cafes. Tea morning, noon and night. Every time is tea time. They drink it loose inside the cup. Strong. Usually with milk (they got from the Brits), but some times straight up. I never drank so much tea in my life. Unless I was drinking Nescafé 😮 yup... they think instant Nescafé is the bomb-dickety 😅 who knew? The first photo is of in my Nile villa, me, my friend Naomi who visited from Australia and one of my good local friends, Jamal... you guessed it -having tea! The next photo is at Arashkol Village when I’m visiting with my Nubian family and friends -having tea! The next at a cafe -having tea! The last -Nescafé and a Twinkie 😂 fancy! 😅 oh Egypt I love you.
