Why do you think Fel chose to keep his vallaslin?

I think, and based off of my own personal headcanons of Felassan, his reasons for keeping the vallaslin would be similar to a Lavellan who refuses to have Solas remove hers. He’s had them for a very, very long time. Particularly if you follow my verse or Looking Glass (where he is 26 in the fanfic).

And perhaps a bit of his own pride. He could have easily had Solas remove his vallaslin, and frankly I have a hard time imagining why he would have it removed, only to have it redone again a thousand years later to blend in with a culture he doesn’t understand. By the time Masked Empire rolls around, the vallaslin would have long become part of his identity. Not only is it part of himself, it also has pragmatic value. It opened the pathway to gain the trust of clan Virnhen, who was the only thing standing in the way of regaining the eluvians.
