2 New people have came to town!
crystal-snow-queen ehmega "Hello! Welcome to Maryland!.."
(cont. 2/2) Because I don't know, from my opinion any time Danny has a woman or a girl in life he cares about, he is /very/ defensive, especially against the opposite sex hanging around, as he was with Rachel and Stan (less than more) but especially acting like Catherine is an older version of Grace ( "Ted Bundy was 10 once" ) I guess it throws me off characterization wise because hes had VERY little interaction with Catherine and I dont know if hes trying to worry /for/ steve or what.
ehmega asked:
I would have to say that even as someone who doesnt ship Mcrollins, they appear more naturally the most in these three episodes than they have in three seasons, and that makes me okay with it (Not so much the lingering glances to billy at the end of the episode, I dont think that was necessary) and I would say to Danno getting all up in arms about Catherine might be a little out of character, but not as out of character as some people might think. (cont 1/2)
(But long story short yea I agree with you and I actually think these are good few episodes we've had from the last 3 seasons and somethings do need to be handwaved I mean this is tv we're talking about)
I’ve seen a few theories floating around about Danny’s behavior, and I know how I would justify it to myself, because it is very very easy to justify the actions and words of your favorite character, even while criticizing the actions and words of a character not liked as much, but I’d rather not go down that path. Without making excuses, therefore, I would say that I would lean towards it being more worry for Steve than worry for Cath, yes.
Actually, you bring up a point that has definitely interested me since Cath became a larger presence in the show: this question of her interaction with Danny (and, by extension, the rest of the team). We saw her a lot at team hangouts in S3, whether for casual occasions like meals or something more formal like Malia’s funeral, and I expect that is meant to show how she’s comfortable with everybody and not just Steve.
However, even in group shots, she is almost never interacting with anyone but Steve. Even if she talks to Danny, or Chin, or Kono, she’s nearly always placed next to Steve in the shot; logical, since her connection to this group really is Steve, and she wouldn’t know or necessarily befriend the others if he weren’t their mutual acquaintance.
But it does make for some awkward insertions later, like her girl date to the Pro Bowl with Kono (despite never having interacted with Kono without indirect reason from Steve or the direct reason of a job), or her inclusion at Malia’s funeral.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Danny sing Cath’s praises, or allude to knowing her better than we’ve actually seen on screen, and it always strikes a little false. I’ll allow handwaving a timeline for the sake of pace, but not the lack of actual character interaction we need to assume happened somewhere offscreen. Are Cath and Danny buddies? I would love that, but I have no idea, because he never interacts with her unless Steve is also around, and in those interactions, he’s very rarely spoken to her directly (3.18 Dolls being the clearest exception I can recall, when he’s describing derby to her — but that’s also to Steve/the rest of the team).
I suspect Danny’s backing of Cath in this scene and others like it has twofold reasoning: 1. To show his concern for Steve (and possibly allude to some personal experience) and 2. So that fans who love Danny will have solid canon proof that Danny thinks Cath is the bee’s knees, and will get on board with the S/C pairing and Cath’s continuing presence on the show.
(Personally, I think #2 is a mistake; not because I disagree, but because there is no surer way to make annoyed fans call “Mary Sue” than to have other characters suddenly and uncharacteristically wax poetical about how great the subject of conversation is.)
In short (too late), I think Danny is being used to further lever the McRollins storyline and pairing, which is a weak move, especially since McRollins really stood on its own two feet last episode. Here’s hoping they discontinue Danny’s awkward and strangely misogynistic stake in the plot, and let that storyline develop organically.
Ciao, everyone.

…’The hell was that—
Ten More came into the Forest
The small elfish child was riding on with his 60 ft wurm ,looking above the forest as he spotted a unfamiliar person. The limbless ,dragon like creature let out a loud screech before the little femmy-looking lad started rubbing it's horned head gently. " There there girl ...I don't think it's nothing to be scared of but just to be sure I'll go check on it. Go underground and wait for me ,I'll be back later okay Vega." he ordered as leaps off the massive creature on to a branch of tree ,seeing his 'pet' go under as he told her too.
' Well I better check on the foreigner of the lands. I hope the fellow is safe.' the lad thought to himself while sitting on the branch for a mere moment before jumping from tree to tree until he was at approachable distance to the stranger.
The blonde little elf decided he should let his presence be known so he spoke up in a gentle like voice." Hello ? Is someone there ? I believe you're a stranger of this place ,no ? " he wanted to sound as pleasant and welcoming as he could ,besides it's so nice to have people visiting his home .
