Furbbs appreciation post: for a friend who left the fandom and changed my life (please read)

thank you for all the love on the recent photos of chiffon and latte ;w; if you see this i just want you to know im holding all your tags and comments close to my heart and sobbing from joy

both were customized by my precious friend @furbbs in 2018... furbbs is long inactive in the furby space but did some of the most gorgeous, in depth and unique customs id ever seen.

i decided to make this post so i can remind people of the incredibly talented person i get to call my friend.

furbbs was one of the first (if not the first) i saw skin an 05 and boom.

they are safe, but i cant pretend i do not miss their presence in this space. i hope to keep their incredible work alive through my photography!

they had to leave due to health issues.

This sweetie of theirs, too! In general, they did things with dye I STILL cannot comprehend. They'd done custom plush and fursuits before, so I suppose that's how they were so intuitive!

This "confetti baby" custom dyed snowball by them is still unbelievable to me. Genuinely amazing. (Credit)

Latte originally had a custom "furbucks" apron they made. He has a "scent pouch" inside that smells like hazelnut and coffee made from candle melts. (Credit)

aurora was originally a dalmatian furb and was dyed to my liking to look like a cloudy sky. he has so much detail on his eyelids that can't be seen right now as they got stuck open in transit. (Credit)

they even custom made the hair tuft aurora has :") its several fur panels sewed together as dye wasnt working. my heart... (credit)

obligatory mention to my boyfriend (@tiedyefurb)'s custom furby, prince, also made by them. the level of detail is insane

they bought a lot of suspiciously cheap furbies for my boyfriend because he dreamed of owning an angel furby and one was included. the overall price was $12/furby.

the furbies were full of dead bugs, even under their eyelids and in their robot parts. they had dead bug poop in them, they were... really gross.

out of love and perseverance, despite having intense toy empathy and the process being upsetting, furbbs cleaned them all thoroughly. me and my bf have 5 furbies from the lot, 3 customized by them

when i got chiffon, my sun bleached crystal baby, customed by them they let me make so many changes and i made them start over and add little details so many times. i wish id known how special the experience was in the moment

i... cant express how much furbbs means to me and how much joy their craft brings. i think most people probably dont know of them and the thought made me sad. so i wanted to remind people of my precious friend.

posting this here essentially because im embarrassed of it + dont want many people to see it, but also want to get it out of my head and somewhere people could Theoretically see: (it is a DID fictive vent, it likely will not make sense to a stranger and this is intentionally vague)

existing in a way so different from my normal is honestly anxiety inducing and shameful. new experiences and feelings feel like a failure to who i was.

and also. i existed like "this" before. but i am not how i was then and there is shame in that. if in every way i should technically be... mentally capable of things i was previously unable, why am i still "wrong"? i feel guilt in a way. even though there i am "like this" i am not how i was when i was "like this" before. as far as having more emotion, motivation, etc.

there are so many mixed up feelings. im alone for it. i cant tell anyone i feel like this, because its shameful. our partner, maybe. except id have to "spoil" my source media that they are still reading. and then theyd never finish it and id really have nothing.

...i hate being here. i am trying to find joys and there are some, but i miss my life before despite all odds.

i guess its fine. i hated that person. but in another way am i betraying myself? im not who i was "then" and im not who i was before i was here. and its confusing and stressful

i dont like being alone like this. socializing isnt bad but i wish i had the people from before. im desperate for something familiar and i feel bad for that - the people here are fine. good, even

i want comfort, honestly. i feel the worst for that. its weak to want support and affection, but i desperately do. i have no idea how to ask for it. what if i make someone uncomfortable?

[theroetical, non-literal, not directed at reader] just... please. tell me im not a failure. tell me im not "wrong" or "inaccurate" because of all these emotions i didnt have welling up. tell me youre proud of me. im trying so hard.

i eat when i dont want to. i sleep when i dont want to. i talk to people and i try new things and i read and i write. i do so much and it is hard and i just want someone to care. i got so spoiled, having people who cared about me. now i dont. my support system is gone.

and i had already lost so much of myself. why did i have to get here and lose even more?

im eidolon, 26, they/them pronouns. im genderfluid and disabled.

i will post photos of my furbies under the tag #my furbies as well as the name of the furby! i do reblog other peoples furbies and toys, too, but often forget to tag.

my dolls will be under the tag #my dolls and have their name, brand (if applicable). if you are creeped out by ball jointed dolls you can blacklist #bjd and #realistic doll. or if you like those, there are the tags for you!

my history and interests within the furby community

as of may 2023 im returning to the furby fandom! i joined in january 2018 and ive seen it all! that said, ive been on semi-hiatus for years so i do feel like a grandpa.

my favorite thing to do is take photographs of my furbies! especially outside or on trips!

i post sporatically as i take photoshoots, so i may post 10 + photos at once then nothing for months.... i refuse to queue im sorry in advance

im a big fan of 1998 and 2005 furbies. their designs are so lovely! i like how customizable 98s are and how interactive 05s are. i think 05s have an adorable, unique aesthetic.

i have many customized furbies but they were almost all bought pre-customized! i have done some minor customization and touch ups before, but nothing intense. ive skinned and washed furbies as well.

i have about 6 furbies awaiting customization, lol. i will for sure be sharing my experiences!

omg i found the most awesome group of ppl on an open game of among us, so fun, rlly good at the game. none of them held grudges, very chill, smart ppl! it was so fun. my best games in among us period

im not that good at the game so i rlly didnt help- i cleared a person when also forgot and voted them off whn they tried to save me, then i died. lmao. anyways im exhausted from a two day trip, we drove 8 hours just today, so i had to leave but i didnt want to :( shoutout to shrek, ftrump (great un), and dumbbish
