Can you review Ricken's artist in FEH?
Got a few asks so I'll answer in order!
Eihi's Ricken's artist, and also Resplendent Serra and Valentine's Veronica. Not a huge repertoire of characters, but there's enough that I think I can get a good grasp on their style.
I think they've got a nice, colorful style going on, one thing I adore about their artwork for Valentine's Veronica was that they gave her a nice, soft palette instead of the harsher colors we tend to see in her alts, like her Pirate's alt, Brave alt, and kind of even her Easter alt (which uses a lot of stark white, gold, and red). Valentine's Veronica has a lot of soft pink which really helps give her a more tender feel:
(also unrelated, guess who learned how to work around those stupid web files, yaaaay)
Anatomy most of the time checks out (Except for one thing which I will bring up later). Facial expressions are great! I like Serra's confidence and Ricken's lack of confidence:
I wanna say that looking at their artwork, these almost look like they could be anime stills, so I like that they lean into that more cartoony artstyle.
Now like I mentioned earlier about anatomy, the one issue I've seen from Serra and Veronica was eyes. These gals are... a little wall-eyed when they're facing head on. Serra especially has the worst of it:
Just... big ol' empty space between their eyes. However Eihi seems to at least take care of spacing when these characters are facing 2/3rds, as seen above.
Though I will say, Ricken doesn't look as spaced out:
I wonder if it's because Eihi used slightly more detail by making his nose a teensy bit more pronounced and giving him a brow ridge between his eyes? Either way, it's possible that Eihi actually improved from drawing Serra and Veronica, but we'll have to see for the next time they draw a female character.
All in all, Eihi's an 8/10. No huge array of characters yet, but we see some real skill and care in the characters they HAVE drawn, and I think our dear lad Ricken was a fantastic pick for them to draw.
