#500Miles by Màrtainn MacDhòmhnaill Via Flickr: What a truly incredible journey it has been. On 15th September 2018, seven individuals took to the 500 mile start line at Sligachan, on The Isle of Skye. 21 days later, the challenge has concluded. The journey started with extremely limited resources, and very quickly shifted into voluntary community contributions, across the span of Scotland. The walkers experienced kindness and generosity from town to town, on a scale that was unexpected at outset. Communities self-motivated, and provided a support network of accommodation and sustenance. There have been many themes highlighted and stemming from the walk, on an ongoing basis, generating millions of social media impressions. These have ranged from holistic involvement extending to everyone in Scotland who has thus far not participated with democracy, the importance of future digital inclusion, protection of Scotland’s Parliament Powers, with a collective underlining of aspects of Civil Rights for Scotland, and Freedom of Speech. Blockchain democracy itself, has been a focused and defined aspect. During the walk, it was confirmed by the twitter @YesDayScotland media portal, that Scotland’s blockchain academics have access for the funding of a future democracy platform. An inaugural national Clearpoll blockchain poll was also confirmed, effective October 23rd – 30th. yesdayscotland.wordpress.com/2018/10/09/scotlands-500-mil...
