Prep Week
Skincare:
For Day One she mentions a once a week facial that includes the following.
1. When searching for Spry the only thing I found were mints which is very different than the Crisco she also mentioned on this step, I’m going to stick with Crisco, though I am scared to use it as my skin gets oily and clogged easily. I’m not sure why cold cream like Pond’s wasn’t used, but for right now I’m going to trust the process. As of right now Crisco costs $4.19
2. Next up we have Facial Tissues which cost $1.29. I have a feeling these will disintegrate while using them and it will clog my pores, but again I must trust the process and hope these are what she meant.
3. Vinegar is easy enough to not misinterpret and costs $3.99
4. A Facial Sauna. She goes on to mention these are cheap, however I don’t see why steaming my face with a towel and the bathroom sink wouldn’t do the job but as for pricing for a Facial Sauna the cheapest one I found was $19.51. However I do think I’ll simply steam my face over the sink because that is a little out of my budget for an experiment.
5. A paste made of oatmeal and honey. In my experience I’ve heard oatmeal isn’t as useful for soothing skin as was once thought, but I feel like I’ll get my moneys worth in breakfasts. Honey though I believe is very good for the skin. (Not that honey will not be integrated into my diet as soon as I purchase it) Oatmeal costs $5.14 and Honey would be $3.87
6. Cotton pads, easy and straightforward enough. Costs $3.18
7. Witch Hazel I trust with my life and my skin as of right now, and costs $5.97
8. 4 Slices of cucumber, one whole cucumber costs ¢69
9. Eye Drops cost $5.45
10. Face Moisture. I’m going to be using my Innisfree simply because I already have it, which cost me around $18 I believe, however much cheaper options are easily accessible.
In total (Not including moisturizer) we are looking at $53.99. Much more than I thought but to be fair everything here will give you MONTHS of facials.
