Summary: Colin and Eilinora deal with the IRA and becoming a family
[12/20/2015 10:35:24 PM] Megan: Colin joined the IRA when he was fourteen years old. He wanted an independent Ireland and the only way they could do it is by putting the pressure on. So he started off with stealing guns and ammo from army barracks. He also acted as a runner in case authorities were coming close. Now he's was an adult and he was being asked to do even more.
Right now though he was taking a walk down Falls road. Mulling things over in his mind. He knew his mum was worried about him, but until Northern Ireland was free he couldn't rest. [12/20/2015 10:38:56 PM] Meyghaenn: "Eilinora!" her mother called, but the girl was taking one brief moment to herself, not listening at all. She'd walked all the way down to the end of their property, and then slipped out of the gate as she dashed across the road to the McGintys'. They had the prettiest flowers, and Eilinora just wanted a couple to put in her vase.
She made sure that the coast was clear, and then she reached inside their fence and snapped the flowers off, smelling them gently as soon as she had them. Then she turned and started to run back. [12/20/2015 10:59:43 PM] Megan: Colin looked as a girl stole flowers from a nearby house. He couldn't help but feel amused as he walked by the alley way she walked in. "I've never met a thief that was as beautiful as you." [12/20/2015 11:00:48 PM] Meyghaenn: His voice made her jump ten feet in the air, and then Eilinora blushed red, tucking her hair behind her ear and holding the flowers behind her back. "I wasn't stealing. Nay... I had permission." [12/20/2015 11:04:13 PM] Megan: "I've seen you around at church... your... Elinora?" [12/20/2015 11:05:32 PM] Meyghaenn: When he mentioned church, she went even redder, nodding her head slightly. "Eilinora, yes..." she said, biting her lip. Then she couldn't help it. "Please don't tell. I'll confess, just don't tell." [12/20/2015 11:17:14 PM] Megan: "I won't tell and you don't need to confess." Colin gave the girl a smile. "I wasn't hear to make you feel bad about it." [12/20/2015 11:18:38 PM] Meyghaenn: "I stole... I'll have to confess," she told him softly. Then he smiled at her, and she couldn't help but blush a little redder. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you an accomplice." [12/20/2015 11:37:36 PM] Megan: "That's okay. I don't mind be your accomplice." He smiled at her again "Lass like you must have a lad already." [12/20/2015 11:39:13 PM] Meyghaenn: "Oh," Eilinora said, shaking her head. She reached up to push some of her red curls behind her other ear. "Not really, no. I once went on a picnic with Seamus Harkin, but my parents were there and I got a little ill and he didn't call on me again." [12/21/2015 12:00:39 AM] Megan: "Do you want to have a picnic with me? Hopefully not with your parents?" Colin asked with a smile. [12/21/2015 12:02:19 AM] Meyghaenn: When he asked her the question, she was taken off guard. "I can't go unchaperoned..." [12/21/2015 1:42:48 AM] Megan: "Why can't you?" Colin challenged. "How old are you?" [12/21/2015 1:43:22 AM] Meyghaenn: "Because it's not proper," she answered immediately. Then she felt offended, like he thought she was a child. "Eighteen." [12/21/2015 2:06:03 AM] Megan: "I think you should tell your parents you are going to take a walk... then meet me." Colin offered. [12/21/2015 2:06:28 AM] Meyghaenn: She furrowed her brows. "What kind of man wants me to lie to my parents to go meet him? Usually the kind that leads to trouble." [12/21/2015 2:10:59 AM] Megan: "A little trouble is good though," Colin offered. "Just trust me on this." [12/21/2015 2:12:10 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora bit her lip, not sure that this was the best idea. But then her mother called to her again, and she had to make a snap decision, and she wasn't good at those. "When?" [12/21/2015 2:59:46 AM] Megan: "Tomorrow around noon?" Colin figured that would be a good time, considering it would be lunch time. [12/21/2015 3:00:22 AM] Meyghaenn: She stepped back to her house, nodding her head. "I'll bring food," she answered immediately, and then when her mother called again, she turned to run to the house. [12/21/2015 3:07:08 AM] Megan: "Aye sounds like a plan. See you then." Every Friday morning, Eilinora's mother went to visit her own mother, leaving the girl alone to take care of the house. As soon as she was gone, she started to make some sausage rolls for her lunch. Then she packed a basket and when it hit noon exactly, she walked out towards the street, nervous about this whole thing. She'd probably have to confess about it later, but at least for now she could have fun. [12/21/2015 6:01:28 PM] Megan: Colin was waiting for Eilinora to walk through the alley way. Once she appeared he smiled at her. "I'm glad you came." [12/21/2015 6:02:22 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora blushed when he was there, having thought with the majority of her mind that he wasn't going to show. But then she nodded her head and bit her lip. "I just made sausage rolls... I hope that's okay." [12/21/2015 8:24:12 PM] Megan: "Aye, I love sausage rolls." Colin took her free hand then began to lead her to a small park nearby. [12/21/2015 8:25:27 PM] Meyghaenn: She was surprised that he took her hand, but Eilinora just ended up blushing redder and moving with him. They walked to a park, and sat under a tree, while Eilinora pulled out the food for him to start eating. [12/21/2015 9:01:02 PM] Megan: Colin sat down next to Eilinora then looked over at her. "So tell me about yourself... what do you like to do? You are very intriguing." [12/21/2015 9:01:38 PM] Meyghaenn: "How am I intriguing?" Eilinora asked, not sure if she believed him. She made him a plate and handed it over, then started to make one for herself. [12/21/2015 11:09:21 PM] Megan: "You are the seemingly good girl who stole flowers," Colin said with a smirk. And if you want to really think about it, nicking flowers is probably the most goody thing I could do in regards to thievery." [12/21/2015 11:18:40 PM] Megan: "True... it is the goody thing. I feel like there's a rebel inside you though." Colin smiled over at her before taking another bite of his food. [12/21/2015 11:19:16 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora shook her head. "The worst thing I've done, was when I was fourteen, and I put a bit of ice down Nacy McNally's knickers." [12/21/2015 11:26:48 PM] Megan: "See secretly rebellious. I'm right about you," Colin said still teasing her. [12/21/2015 11:30:25 PM] Meyghaenn: "No... It was only because she told the lad I liked that I didn't know how to cook. It was a big ordeal at fourteen." She blushed redder, and reached up to try and tuck her mess of hair behind her ears. [12/21/2015 11:32:40 PM] Megan: "Well this sausage roll proves that you can definitely cook." Colin leaned back on his arms. "Are you tired of this old rusty town?" [12/21/2015 11:33:39 PM] Meyghaenn: "Thank you," she said softly. When he leaned back, she looked over at him and didn't know what to say. "Are you?" [12/21/2015 11:39:41 PM] Megan: "I'm tired of working dead end jobs that our government gives. Not being given choices. I might move down south if I can." Colin looked over at Eilinora. "My Da says that it's not fair that it had to be us. The whole country got to say that we weren't a part of them anymore, and that's not a fair thing to ask people who don't have anything to lose." She wasn't stupid, and she'd figured by the jacket that he wore in the first place. Her eyes moved over to his, and she swallowed hard. "Do you think it'll help?" [12/21/2015 11:48:08 PM] Megan: "It can't hurt. Things are bad... so we need to put the pressure on." Colin explained. "You don't mind that right?" [12/21/2015 11:49:17 PM] Meyghaenn: "I think..." Eilinora started, biting her lip as she tried to put it into words, "that sometimes things get worse before they get better." [12/21/2015 11:53:17 PM] Megan: "I agree." Colin said with another smile. "See I knew I would like you." [12/21/2015 11:53:48 PM] Meyghaenn: She blushed again when he said that he liked her, shrugging her shoulders. "A lot of people would agree with you." [12/21/2015 11:55:07 PM] Megan: "Some people don't. Plus not all of those people would steal flowers." He said in a teasing tone. [12/21/2015 11:55:53 PM] Meyghaenn: "You really need to get over the flower nicking. I only did it because I thought no one was looking... and they're the best flowers in the neighborhood..." Eilinora shook her head. [12/21/2015 11:58:47 PM] Megan: "I don't want to get over it." He said giving her a smile before leaning in to kiss her on the cheek. "I found it rather adorable." [12/22/2015 12:00:12 AM] Meyghaenn: When he leaned in to kiss her cheek, he must have felt the heat radiating from them. She let her hair fall into her face, using the size of it to try and cover up how much of an effect he had on her. "I don't know why..." [12/22/2015 12:16:26 AM] Megan: "You stole something rather cheerful." Colin said. "We could all use some more cheer in our lives." [12/22/2015 12:17:10 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora turned to look at him with a softer look to her eyes. "Have you ever stolen?" [12/22/2015 12:20:10 AM] Megan: "Yeah... I've stolen." Colin nodded his head slowly. [12/22/2015 12:21:12 AM] Meyghaenn: She bit her lip, and then decided just to say it. "It's kind of... thrilling. For a moment. Until the guilt sinks in." [12/22/2015 12:22:30 AM] Megan: "It is...though I would encourage you to stick to flowers." Colin said as he moved closer to her. [12/22/2015 8:25:13 PM] Meyghaenn: "Because you say things that make a lass want to really fancy you," she said, shaking her head. [12/22/2015 8:25:58 PM] Megan: "I'm okay with it... especially if that lass is you," Colin said with a smile. [12/22/2015 8:28:05 PM] Meyghaenn: "Yeah, but the lass is getting a load of trouble," she said, blushing a little and pushing her hair behind her ears now. [12/22/2015 8:48:35 PM] Meyghaenn: "And sometimes it gets the lass into bad situations," she said softly. "Sometimes the lass gets hurts at the end. Do you know Caoilainn McGregor?" [12/22/2015 8:52:49 PM] Meyghaenn: "She got involved with this lad named Niall, and now she doesn't come out in public, and Ciara told me that she caught sight of her and she's expecting, and Niall is nowhere in town anymore," Eilinora said matter of factly. "I wouldn't leave my baby though... if God was to surprise me with one." [12/22/2015 9:07:55 PM] Meyghaenn: "Does that work?" Eilinora asked him. "If you just pull out?" Then she bit her lip when he mentioned God. He didn't sound like a lad who didn't care. "So you're with lasses then?" [12/22/2015 9:09:07 PM] Megan: "I've heard its worked." Colin said then rose his eyebrows. "You mean doing that kind of stuff?" [12/22/2015 9:09:34 PM] Meyghaenn: "It... makes sense," she admitted softly. Then Eilinora nodded. "Yes." [12/22/2015 9:10:18 PM] Megan: "Not really, no." Colin said with a shrug. "Not as often as some other blokes I know." [12/22/2015 9:11:27 PM] Meyghaenn: Her face lit up a little, then fell again when he clarified that it was just not as often. "Oh," she said softly. "Are you saying..." [12/22/2015 9:30:45 PM] Meyghaenn: "Yes," Eilinora lied. She wanted to prove her point, and this seemed the best way to do it. "I'm letting you ask questions about it... but if you don't want to, you don't have to." [12/22/2015 9:32:19 PM] Megan: Colin looked at her in surprise. "Who...?" [12/22/2015 9:32:50 PM] Meyghaenn: "A lad named Connell. When we visited some family in Dublin." It was better to say that it was far away, someone he wouldn't know. "Lads and lasses aren't that different," she said with a grin. Then she leaned closer to him. "But don't worry... I'm still a virgin." [12/24/2015 1:00:01 AM] Meyghaenn: "I'm not that tricky," she said, shaking her head. "I just wanted to see how you felt about it. The real way you felt about it, not the fake way you tried to pretend you felt." [12/24/2015 1:07:35 AM] Megan: "You are very tricky." Colin said before he leaned in to kiss her on the cheek. "I'm okay with it though." [12/24/2015 1:08:24 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora blushed hot red when he kissed her cheek again, and then she pushed her hair behind both ears. "I should... I should go, before my Ma gets back," she said, starting to clean things up. [12/24/2015 1:46:44 AM] Megan: "What happens when your ma gets back?" Colin was trying to figure out if he had room to persuade. [12/24/2015 1:47:17 AM] Meyghaenn: "She'll wonder where I am," Eilinora replied immediately. "And we'll have to start cooking dinner." [12/24/2015 1:49:32 AM] Megan: "Can I see you again and soon?" Colin asked wondering if he'll get another chance. [12/24/2015 1:50:02 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora looked at him with curious eyes. "After church? I could meet you for an hour or so..." [12/24/2015 2:28:06 AM] Megan: "I would like that. Meet here?" Colin asked, figuring this would be the safest spot for them. [12/24/2015 2:28:40 AM] Meyghaenn: "Alright," she agreed. Then she grabbed her basket and gave him one last smile before she took off running home. [12/24/2015 1:15:23 PM] Megan: ------------------------ [12/24/2015 1:22:23 PM] Megan: Colin was on Shankill Road, notorious Unionist street, he was walking fast with his hands in his pockets. As the group he was traveling with got closer to the pub that many of their enemies dined, Colin moved his handkerchief over his face. As they entered the two men in front of him opened fire just to scare people, not harm them, in a moment the head of the Ulster Army walked over to the group.
"What are you doing here?"
Colin was under strict orders not to speak. So Seamus O'Grady addressed the man. "Before we take drastic measures we wanted to inform you that your Orange Parade will not be entering our neighborhood."
The man glared at Seamus before tilting his head toward them. "I don't take warnings from thugs who enter my pub." All of a sudden people began to push at them. Colin punched a guy in a gut only to find another fist connecting with his lip. The only thing that broke up the fight was the sound of a gunshot followed by sirens.
"Go, go, go," Seamus yelled. They all began to run. "Separate." They followed his command going in various directions using the alley ways that Belfast neighborhoods were known for to fight. Colin took off his handkerchief when it was safe to do so, putting it in his pocket as he slowed his run to a walk.
He looked at his watch to see it was time to meet Eilinora. It took only five minutes to walk to the park, but he was twenty minutes late. [12/24/2015 1:26:32 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora had her jumper wrapped tightly around her, trying to block out the wind that was starting to pick up the more she sat there. She kept telling herself that she'd get up and leave, because it was obvious that he really didn't want to meet her if he was this late... but she couldn't bring herself to actually give up. Colin was... someone special to her, and Eilinora felt like she was going to cry more and more the longer she sat there.
When she finally saw him, the girl stood up, and ran over to him. But when she got there, she saw how in disarray he was, and she couldn't hold back the tears anymore. Her hands went to her mouth, and she just took him all in with her teary eyes. [12/24/2015 1:38:16 PM] Megan: Once Eilinora came closer to him he could see tears in her eyes as she looked at him. "I'm sorry ...didn't mean to be late." [12/24/2015 1:40:37 PM] Meyghaenn: She shook her head, looking down at the ground because she knew that she couldn't look at him without fully crying. "It's alright," the girl said softly. Another breeze came up and she shivered, swallowing hard. [12/24/2015 2:14:30 PM] Megan: "Hey...." Colin put his arms around her waist. "It's okay... I'm okay." [12/24/2015 2:17:41 PM] Meyghaenn: He wrapped her up, and Eilinora buried her face in his chest, letting it all out. She didn't want to tell him not to do what he did, but she needed to let herself be sad over how hurt he was. When she finally got it together, she swallowed hard, and turned her face so she could speak. "Did you do something good?" [12/24/2015 2:32:12 PM] Megan: "We were trying to convince the Unionists to keep their parade out of our neighborhood," Colin explained. "Not sure if it worked." [12/24/2015 2:32:58 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora nodded. "That was... that was a good idea," she told him, trying to be supportive even if she felt choked up. [12/24/2015 2:49:19 PM] Megan: "I thought so." Colin kissed her head softly. "I'm sorry I upset you." [12/24/2015 2:52:05 PM] Meyghaenn: She shook her head against his chest. "I understand," Eilinora told him. Her face turned up to look at him. "I... I'll be okay." [12/24/2015 2:53:58 PM] Megan: "I didn't know you would care this much about me being injured." Colin said softly. "Thought you might find it attractive." [12/24/2015 2:55:20 PM | Edited 2:55:28 PM] Meyghaenn: The girl reached up a hand to his cheek, running fingers over a cut. "How would you feel if I came to meet you all bruised?" she asked him softly. [12/24/2015 2:56:34 PM] Megan: "I would beat up whoever did that to you..." Colin said honestly. "So you care a lot then?" [12/24/2015 2:57:24 PM] Meyghaenn: "Well, I'd like to try and do that, too, but I feel like you'll tell me no," she said softly. Then Eilinora looked up at him and nodded. [12/24/2015 3:07:11 PM] Megan: "I would most definitely tell you no." Colin looked into her eyes then leaned in to kiss her on the lips softly. "It will be okay" [12/24/2015 3:08:55 PM] Meyghaenn: "I figured," Eilinora said immediately. Then he leaned in to kiss her lips, and she closed her eyes to taste his kiss. Eilinora nodded, looking back up at him. "What... what are we?" [12/24/2015 3:14:03 PM] Megan: "I was thinking I was your boyfriend...at least I was planning to work my way up to that." Colin said with a small smile. [12/24/2015 3:15:07 PM] Meyghaenn: Her cheeks turned red, and she nodded her head. "I want you to be my boyfriend," she agreed. "I just don't know... if we can be... if you're not... officially courting me." [12/24/2015 5:40:01 PM] Megan: "How do I officially court you? Talk to your dad?" Colin asked feeling worried. [12/24/2015 5:46:07 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora bit her lip. "Yes..." she said softly, already knowing he wouldn't. [12/24/2015 6:11:48 PM] Megan: "Do you think he would approve of me?" Colin asked feeling worried. [12/24/2015 6:12:27 PM] Meyghaenn: "Well.... Maybe... Don't tell him how into things you are," she said softly. "But he agrees with your ideals. And you go to church. And you care about me...." [12/24/2015 8:46:38 PM] Megan: "Okay don't talk about the revolution ..." Colin said softly. "I do care about you." [12/24/2015 11:48:56 PM] Meyghaenn: "You can talk about it.... Just not about how deeply you're in it." When he said that he cared about her, she blushed, and leaned up to kiss his cheek. "I care about you, too. I want a future with you... So we have to do it right..." [12/25/2015 2:57:38 AM] Megan: Colin looked at her in surprise for a moment. "I never thought showing up late and looking like this would get you wanting to have a future with me." [12/25/2015 9:20:23 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora blushed lightly when he said what he did,. The girl shrugged. "It... makes me want to be some place safe you can come home to... Every time you look like this." [12/25/2015 12:02:03 PM] Megan: Colin gave her a small smile before leaning in to kiss her on the lips again. "I'll meet your father ... and be on my best behavior." [12/25/2015 12:06:14 PM] Meyghaenn: She smiled when he agreed to do it like she wanted. Eilinora returned his kiss and held on tight, enjoying the way he kissed her. "Good. I can't wait." He was nervous about meeting Eilinora's father. Fathers tend to be rather protective of their daughters, for good reason too. He mustered enough courage to knock on the door then waited patiently. [12/25/2015 12:38:52 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora dressed in her best dress, a light purple color and accentuated her curves, and pulled her hair back so her face was seen. Her father complimented her on it, and she smiled, hoping she could please both of the men in her life.
When she heard the knock on the door, she tore out of the kitchen where she was cooking. Then she ran to the door, opening it up and trying to control herself because her father was in the hallway behind her. "Hello, Collin." [12/25/2015 12:44:16 PM] Megan: Colin smiled at Eilinora as she answered the door. "Hello Eilinora. You look beautiful." He then looked up to see if anyone was nearby. [12/25/2015 12:46:54 PM] Meyghaenn: "Thank you," she said with a grin. Then she let him into the door, where her father was watching. "Da, this is Colin. You've probably seen him at church." [12/26/2015 1:13:21 AM] Megan: Colin reached out his hand to greet the older man. "Nice to see you, sir."
Gerry returned his hand shake but gave Colin a hard look. "I've heard things about you." [12/26/2015 1:16:29 AM] Meyghaenn: When her father spoke, Eilinora frowned. "Da..." she said softly, trying to move the conversation forward and away from whatever that was. [12/26/2015 1:28:48 AM] Megan: "Right...just saying I know." Gerry said as he invited the boy in.
He looked over at Eilinora then rose his eyebrow. [12/26/2015 1:30:48 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora caught Colin's eye, then grabbed his arm to lead him into the dining room. "You can sit here. Dinner will be ready in a moment. We made a roast," she said softly. "Would you like anything to drink? Da?" she asked, extending the question to both of them. [12/26/2015 1:41:15 AM] Megan: Colin took a seat just like Eililnora suggested. "Just water..."
Gerry smiled at his little girl. "Guinness, love." [12/26/2015 1:42:53 AM] Meyghaenn: She nodded and ran off to grab drinks, then brought them back. Eilinora sat the beer bottle down for her da, then gave Colin his water, and the other bottle of beer that she decided to bring out for him. Then she moved back into the kitchen to help finish up. [12/26/2015 2:02:04 AM] Megan: Gerry looked back up at Colin. "So what do you do for a living?"
Colin paused for a moment. "I help my da out with his pub. Mainly." [12/26/2015 2:04:26 AM] Meyghaenn: Once dinner was ready, Eilinora and her mother Mary brought the food in, arranging it on the table before taking their seats. She looked over at Colin and gave him a small, reassuring smile before bowing her head for her Da to say grace. [12/26/2015 3:36:27 PM] Megan: Colin smiled at Eilinora's mum then looked down at the table. "This looks amazing." [12/26/2015 3:37:42 PM] Meyghaenn: "Thank you," Mary said softly, then looked over at her husband, to let him take control of the situation.
Eilinora reached under the table to put her hand on Colin's knee, just as a sort of steadying touch. [12/26/2015 3:45:38 PM] Megan: Gerry folded his hands which Colin followed his lead, doing it as well. He said a quick blessing then everyone began eating.
"So Colin how is the family?" Gerry asked.
"Mum is doing good. She's keeping busy. Da is also busy, but in good health,"Colin explained. [12/26/2015 3:46:46 PM] Meyghaenn: "You'll have to tell your mother hello for me," Mary interjected. "You still live with them?" [12/26/2015 3:59:10 PM] Megan: "I do. The plan is to live with them until I'm married." Colin said softly. "I'll definitely say hi to her for you."
Gerry asked another question. "So you plan on taking over the pub?"
Colin nodded his head. "Aye, sir." [12/26/2015 4:01:04 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora patted Colin's knee again, then reached up to start filling his plate for him. Mary did the same for Gerry, and then the women took care of themselves. [12/26/2015 4:10:35 PM] Megan: Colin turned his head to give Eilinora a smile. "Thank you." He took a bite of his food then smiled. "This is really good." [12/26/2015 4:11:33 PM] Meyghaenn: "Thank you," the women said at the same time, then Eilinora blushed and looked back down. She drank her water, hoping that this night would end with something good happening. [12/26/2015 5:41:18 PM] Megan: Colin continued to eat answering the questions that Gerry asked of him. Soon dinner was over, so they went to the living room for tea, leaving the couple alone for a moment. [12/26/2015 5:43:20 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora was proud of Colin and how he handled himself. She was told to clear the table, so she started to, but when her parents left she stopped and leaned in to kiss his cheek. "Thank you for this." [12/26/2015 5:49:58 PM] Megan: Colin smiled over at his girl. "No problem... I hope he likes me. It's hard to tell." [12/26/2015 6:15:44 PM] Meyghaenn: She smiled. "He loves you. He hasn't kicked you out yet. That's how you can tell," she said with a bigger grin. Then she leaned in to kiss his lips. "You should go in there. I'll bring you tea, if you want." [12/26/2015 6:56:24 PM] Megan: Colin returned her kiss then gave her a smile. "Tea would be good." He walked out into the living room joining Gerry on the sofa.
"I worry about my daughter getting involved... I don't want what you do to harm her."
He looked up at the older man with surprise. "I promise... I wouldn't put her in danger. I really care about her." [12/26/2015 7:02:07 PM] Meyghaenn: Mary watched as her husband addressed the boy who was interested in their daughter. She knew that Gerry believed like Colin did, and probably would have been a part of it back in the day.
"I can tell that you care about her," she tossed out, looking over at her husband, knowing she'd get a look to keep out of it. [12/26/2015 7:14:30 PM] Megan: "I do care about her... I really do." Colin said.
Gerry gave his wife a look then stopped his line of conversation when Eilinora came into the room. [12/26/2015 7:15:34 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora brought tea in, handing it out to each of the people in the room before she sat on the floor herself. She looked up at her parents, and then over at Colin. Just make sure that what you do... doesn't drag her in."
"It won't," Colin said softly. [12/26/2015 7:48:25 PM] Meyghaenn: When he said that Colin could court her, Eilinora gasped, standing up and running over to her da to pull him into a hug. "Thank you, Da," she said, kissing his cheek. "Thank you." [12/26/2015 8:12:33 PM] Megan: Gerry returned his daughter hug then looked over at Colin.
"Thank you, sir," Colin said softly. [12/26/2015 8:14:26 PM] Meyghaenn: They sat and talked for a little longer, then it was time for Colin to say goodnight. Eilinora led him to the door, and then Gerry gave them both a look before she slipped outside with her boyfriend. [12/26/2015 8:53:42 PM] Megan: Colin smiled as he walked onto the porch. "Looks like you're my girlfriend after all." [12/26/2015 8:55:26 PM] Meyghaenn: "I know!" Eilinora exclaimed, then blushed. She walked over to him, wrapping her arms around his middle. Then she turned and ran back inside to help finish cleaning up. When he invited her inside, she bit her lip, looking up at him. "My parents don't expect me for another hour." [12/26/2015 10:11:48 PM] Megan: "Sooo... is this a yes then?" Coin asked softly, looking her in the eyes. [12/26/2015 10:12:15 PM] Meyghaenn: She met his eyes, already knowing what he was wanting to do. But she nodded her head, and squeezed his hand. "Let's go." [12/26/2015 10:22:19 PM] Megan: Colin smiled pulling on her hand as he led her into his house. He bypassed everything just so he could lead her into his bedroom. [12/26/2015 10:24:43 PM] Meyghaenn: He led her through the house, and then back through most of the rooms, until they made it to his bedroom. She felt nervous, but she walked in anyway, taking off her coat. Eilinora didn't know what to say, so she said something stupid. "You'll pull out?" [12/26/2015 11:34:39 PM] Megan: Colin chuckled then nodded his head. "I would.... you want to then?" [12/26/2015 11:35:12 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora turned to look back at him. "You... Eilinora didn't have time to wait until their normal meeting, so she wrapped her jumper around her, and stood outside the pub, waiting for him to either see her, or get off work and come outside. She alternated between pacing and crying, sometimes doing both at the same time. [12/26/2015 11:50:40 PM] Megan: One of Colin's mates informed him that his lass was waiting outside. He got someone to cover for him then walked outside to see if she was okay. "Eilinora?" [12/26/2015 11:51:48 PM] Meyghaenn: When she heard him call out to her, Eilinora spun around, and debated hitting him. "You said it would work," she told him, her voice distraught. [12/26/2015 11:56:20 PM] Megan: "What would work?" Colin asked in a confused voice. [12/26/2015 11:57:13 PM] Meyghaenn: "Pulling out!" she yelled, and then realized that she'd said it loudly. So she walked a little closer to him, her eyes meeting his. "It didn't work." [12/26/2015 11:59:07 PM] Megan: Colin looked at Eilinora in realization. "You're pregnant?" [12/27/2015 12:00:09 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora nodded, and then she had another bout of tears, wiping at her cheeks and terrified of what he would say. [12/27/2015 12:01:40 AM] Megan: Colin wrapped his arms around her waist then pulled her closer. "I'm sorry it didn't work." He kissed her on the head softly. Eilinora leaned her head onto his shoulder. "Can we do it now?" she asked softly. "So my parents don't have to know?" Eilinora glanced up at him. "Or is it unbelievable?" [12/27/2015 12:21:20 AM] Megan: "Would your father hate me forever if we do it now?" Colin asked not wanting to put himself in an even worse position. [12/27/2015 12:23:03 AM] Meyghaenn: She frowned, thinking it over. Then she nodded her head. "Probably," she admitted, and the tears popped back into her eyes. "I don't know how to tell them.." [12/27/2015 12:26:21 AM] Megan: "I think they will only care if the baby is born out of wedlock." Colin said in all seriousness. "So as long as we do it before you show." [12/27/2015 12:53:37 AM] Meyghaenn: Mary answered the door, pulling up the sleeve of her dress as she saw Colin. "Hello, Colin," she said, stepping aside to let him in. "Gerry, it's Colin!" she hollered at her husband. "Eilinora isn't here, I'm afraid." [12/27/2015 1:19:28 AM] Megan: "Hello. I hope I'm not interrupting anything." Once Gerry appeared he could feel himself get nervous. "Mind if I come in? I need to ask you something." [12/27/2015 1:20:30 AM] Meyghaenn: Gerry stood in the doorway of the living room, nodding his head. "Come on, then," he said, gesturing for him to follow him. Mary shut the door behind them and then made herself scarce. [12/27/2015 1:25:26 AM] Megan: Colin followed the man inside then sat down on the sofa. "As you know sir. I care about your daughter a lot. I love her. And I was wondering if... I could ask her to marry me?" [12/27/2015 1:26:09 AM] Meyghaenn: He asked permission to marry Eilinora, and Gerry narrowed his eyes. "Are you getting out?" [12/27/2015 1:27:03 AM] Megan: "Getting out, sir?" Colin asked. [12/27/2015 1:27:37 AM] Meyghaenn: "Of the IRA," he said blatantly, because Colin seemed to want to skip around it. [12/27/2015 1:28:52 AM] Megan: Colin shook his head slightly. "No, sir. I promise it isn't going to effect her. I don't do any of the real dangerous stuff. But... something needs to change. I need to help with that." [12/27/2015 1:29:36 AM] Meyghaenn: "You're a target, Colin," Gerry said, trying to make it as clear as he could. "How does that not affect her? Or any of the children you might have?" [12/27/2015 1:31:32 AM] Megan: "I'm not, sir." Colin said softly. "I stepped down from a lot of my duties already. It doesn't change the fact that I would do anything to protect your daughter." [12/27/2015 1:32:22 AM] Meyghaenn: He leaned back into his chair, trying to think over everything. "I'll take her back if she's in danger," he told him seriously. [12/27/2015 1:33:45 AM] Megan: "Understood, sir." Colin said. "I love her... and I would do anything to make her happy and provide for her." Colin said as he stood up from the sofa. He stuck his hand out for the man to shake. [12/27/2015 1:40:27 AM] Meyghaenn: Gerry stood up and shook his head firmly, reminding him of his promise. Then he hollered at Mary to show Colin out. [12/27/2015 1:46:31 AM] Megan: Colin nodded his head then made his way to the door. He said goodbye to Mary then made his way back to the pub, wondering if Eilinora would be there. [12/27/2015 1:47:18 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora went into the pub once Colin left, sitting in a corner booth and taking a pint just because she thought they'd think it was weird if she turned it down. The girl sat there, spinning it in her hands, waiting for him to come back... hopefully with good news. [12/27/2015 1:48:44 AM] Megan: Colin entered the pub to see Eilinora in a corner table. He smiled to himself before sitting down next to her. "He said yes." [12/27/2015 1:49:27 AM] Meyghaenn: She watched Colin walk over to her, anticipation written all over her features. When he said what he did, she hollered, reaching out to wrap her arms around his neck. "It's going to be okay." [12/27/2015 1:52:12 AM] Megan: "It is." Colin wrapped his arms around her waist, bringing her closer. "I promise I'll take care of you. We'll live upstairs until we can get a place of our own. We'll get married this weekend. It will be okay." [12/27/2015 1:52:54 AM] Meyghaenn: "You think we can get married this weekend?" she asked him, her eyes going wide. And the idea of living with his parents was scary, but not the worst thing ever. [12/27/2015 1:54:49 AM] Megan: "Yes I think we can get married by them." Colin said with a smile. [12/27/2015 1:55:09 AM] Meyghaenn: "And people won't think it's weird?" she asked, furrowing her brows. "Maybe... they'll just think you can't wait." "I love you," she repeated, because he'd just saved her. Completely saved her, and Eilinora knew it. Craig was playing on the floor, rolling around a little and crawling, getting into so many things that Eilinora had a hard time keeping up with him. She did her best, though, even if she sometimes failed.
She was cleaning up a mess he had made, setting him in a makeshift playpen she'd created out of chairs and sofa cushions. He'd pulled over a coffee table, sending one of her vases into the floor, shattering completely. It was a tough mess, but Eilinora only got a couple of cuts from it. [12/27/2015 2:30:24 AM] Megan: Colin worked the day shift at the pub before meeting a few members of the IRA. They were planning something big at the Europa hotel. He wasn't quite sure if this line of tactics would work, but he wasn't the one that made decisions.
He came home to find his wife cleaning up a mess while his son played. "I'm guessing this little guy was a right menace." [12/27/2015 2:32:23 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora looked up when she heard Colin come in, nodding her head. "He broke my mother's vase," she said a little sadly, then looked over at her pen. "So... I improvised. I expected to be done before you came home. Dinner isn't even ready." [12/27/2015 2:34:35 AM] Megan: "It's okay love." He walked over to pick up Craig. "You need to treat your mum better." He gently spanked the boy on the bum. He walked over to kiss her on the lips. [12/27/2015 2:35:57 AM] Meyghaenn: When he spanked the baby, he was quiet for a moment, as if debating how he felt about that. But in the end, a little giggle won out, and Eilinora gave a sigh. She kissed Colin, and finished picking up the mess before running into the kitchen to finish the potatoes. "It'll just be a few minutes." [12/27/2015 2:45:51 AM] Megan: Colin kissed Craig on top of the head. He gently walked back and forward his son gently rocking him as he did so. Eilinora set Craig's high chair up, and got ready to feed him as well. "How was your day?" she asked Colin, and then blushed. "Sorry. Forgot grace." [12/27/2015 2:55:10 AM] Megan: Colin brought Craig over to their table, putting him into a high chair. He sat down in his chair then looked over at Eilinora to say grace. "It's okay, love." He let out a sigh then looked over at his wife. "Day was alright. Made some good tips... and looks like the IRA is planning something." [12/27/2015 2:56:39 AM] Meyghaenn: "That's good," Eilinora said to the first part, and when she was going to respond to the second, Craig got impatient and started to reach out for his food. [12/27/2015 2:59:26 AM] Megan: "Oi Craig... stop it." Colin said gently pounding on the tray. [12/27/2015 3:00:40 AM] Meyghaenn: The baby turned to look at his da, and then settled back into his chair for a moment. "What are they planning?" Eilinora asked, completely ignoring their prayer and the food set before them. [12/27/2015 3:06:49 AM] Megan: "Something big at the that new hotel the Europa." Colin said softly. "So don't go near there tomorrow. Stay home if you can help it." [12/27/2015 3:07:43 AM] Meyghaenn: "I was going to get groceries tomorrow," Eilinora said, and then her attention turned to Craig who was pushing on his chair, face turning slightly red from the exertion. [12/27/2015 3:12:33 AM] Megan: "I'll bring home dinner for us tomorrow, so you don't have to worry about it." Colin said trying to make the point that it was best to stay in. [12/27/2015 3:13:46 AM] Meyghaenn: "Craig," Eilinora said seriously, swatting at his leg. The boy looked at her with wide eyes, then started to cry slightly. She turned back to her husband. "Okay," she agreed, then reached for his hand so he could say the blessing. [12/27/2015 3:22:45 AM] Megan: Colin nodded his head before saying grace. Once he was done he began to eat. "This is amazing, love." [12/27/2015 3:24:12 AM] Meyghaenn: "Thank you," Eilinora said with a smile when she started to feed Craig. It all went well until she got to the meat, which for some reason, he wasn't a fan of. He would pull the pieces out of his mouth and toss them away. Eilinora kept fighting with him until one of the pieces hit her in the face, and then she put the fork down. "Maybe he can't chew it?" [12/27/2015 3:45:24 AM] Megan: Colin looked over at his wife to see if his son was having a hard time eating the meat. "Try it again." [12/27/2015 3:46:31 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora looked at Colin and wanted to argue when he told her to try it again, because she was tired of trying it. But she did as he said, picking up another bite and feeding it to Craig, only to have him keep it in his mouth for about ten seconds before he pulled it out and flung it. [12/27/2015 3:52:42 AM] Megan: Colin nodded his head then looked over at Eilinora. "Maybe it needs to be cut down in a smaller size?" Eilinora got tired of it, so she just handed him the little plate and let him dig into it himself. [12/27/2015 4:03:15 AM] Megan: "There we go... just let him figure it out himself. He's far too fussy... makes me wonder if I was this bad." Colin said with a smile. "You do a good job with him though." The woman leaned over and kissed her husband's shoulder, then met his eyes. "Can I take away some of your stress tonight?" she asked him softly. Once they finished eating, she cleaned up from dinner, then gave Craig a bath before putting him to bed in the bedroom that they all shared. When he was finally asleep, she walked out to greet her husband. "He's sleeping now... if you want to come to bed." [12/27/2015 4:18:49 AM] Megan: Colin moved to the living room to read as he waited for Eilinora to be done with the baby. Once she came out he smiled, placing the book down, so he could walk over to her. "I would love to." He leaned in to kiss her on the lips. [12/27/2015 4:20:21 AM | Edited 4:20:28 AM] Meyghaenn: She smiled as he walked over, and when he kissed her, she returned it hungrily. Eilinora wanted him as much as she knew he wanted her. The woman grabbed his belt loops and slowly pulled him back into the bedroom, trying to be as quiet as she could so she didn't wake Craig. She tangled a hand in his hair, while the other came down to start undoing his buttons on his shirt. [12/27/2015 4:37:53 AM] Megan: Colin moaned into the kiss at the feel of her hands moving to unbutton his shirt. He laid her down on the bed, reaching to unbutton her blouse as well. When her own shirt was ready, she sat up, eyes rolling back into her head while she shrugged it off. The girl stood up and started to pull back the covers, hoping he'd be okay with them going underneath them this time. It was stupid, but she had issues with the baby being in the same room. Once he was ready he climbed into bed, hovering above her. She tossed them all over the edge of the bed, and then watched him climb up to her. Her eyes met his, and she ran her hands over his face before she leaned up to kiss him roughly. She carefully laid him back down, and then grabbed her husband's hand, pulling him back to the bed. Once she was covered up, she leaned in to kiss his cheek. "I love you." She heard it all on the radio. In fact, she heard the explosion, loud enough that it made Craig start crying. Eilinora wrapped him up, then turned on the radio to listen to everything that was happening.
A lot of people hurt or dead. IRA mentions, and enough to make Eilinora feel nervous. She didn't put the baby down once as she started to make dinner, just hoping that Colin would be home when he was supposed to be. [12/27/2015 4:49:55 PM] Megan: Colin felt the vibrations and felt the boom of the hotel being rocked by explosives. He walked back home to see his wife and kid, mainly to make sure they didn't go out like she promised. He opened the door walking in to see the two people he cared about most safe and sound. [12/27/2015 4:51:13 PM] Meyghaenn: When the door opened, Eilinora jumped, and then turned to see her husband walking in. She walked over to him immediately, using her free arm to wrap around his neck. Then she started crying softly. [12/27/2015 5:07:11 PM] Megan: "Why are you crying love?" He wrapped his arm around her, kissing her head softly. [12/27/2015 5:09:00 PM] Meyghaenn: "Because I'm scared," she whispered softly, and she just buried her face in his neck to help herself relax. [12/27/2015 5:15:07 PM] Meyghaenn: The family of three stood there for awhile, enjoying each other and how they held each other close. Then Eilinora pulled away when the oven timer went off. All of a sudden there was a knock on the door. "Just one second." He walked over answering the door. Seeing Domhail on the other side.
"They got Barry.... they got Barry. He's going to name names. You know he will. We're heading to the Republic right now." [12/27/2015 5:25:10 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora nodded, shifting Craig on her hip and then pulling the shepherd's pie out of the oven. She started to set the table as Colin answered the door. Their little place wasn't big enough for her not to hear. "Colin," Eilinora called out, a nervous tone to her voice. [12/27/2015 5:27:21 PM] Megan: Colin looked at his friend with wide eyes as he heard his wife's voice. "Just give me ten minutes." Domhail nodded his head then headed out to wait in the van.
"Things didn't work out the way they should have... I told them it was stupid." Colin said feeling frustrated. [12/27/2015 5:28:35 PM] Meyghaenn: She started to dish out the meal, setting their son in his chair and then taking her own seat. When Colin came back, she nodded her head. "Just sit down, eat, and relax," she answered softly. [12/27/2015 5:41:39 PM] Megan: Colin walked over to his wife then gave her a sad look. "If Barry names me... I'm going to get arrested." [12/27/2015 5:42:50 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora looked up at him and shook her head. "He won't," she said. "Just eat, and relax." [12/27/2015 5:54:55 PM] Megan: "And... if he does?" Colin asked not wanting to relax quite yet. [12/27/2015 5:56:18 PM] Meyghaenn: "You deny it," she said, shaking her head. "That's all you can do, Colin." [12/27/2015 5:57:05 PM] Megan: "Go to trial... then get convicted because I'm Catholic... and go to jail." Colin said softly. "You're willing to risk that?" [12/27/2015 5:57:49 PM] Meyghaenn: "You don't know that would happen," Eilinora argued. She looked over at him and shook her head. "What else are you going to do?" [12/27/2015 6:17:51 PM] Megan: "I don't know that it won't happen either." Colin said softly. "We need to go to Dublin... or I need to go to Dublin." [12/27/2015 6:18:22 PM] Meyghaenn: "What?" Eilinora asked, surprised at what he said. [12/27/2015 6:27:37 PM] Megan: "We need to go... just in case. If he names me... it's over." Colin said softly. [12/27/2015 6:28:14 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora stared at him. She knew better than to argue with him, but she couldn't help it. "I don't want to go." [12/27/2015 6:33:57 PM] Megan: Colin looked at her for a moment then shook his head. "I'm not leaving you alone..." He took a deep breath. "I could get arrested." [12/27/2015 6:34:46 PM] Meyghaenn: "You won't get arrested," she kept pressing, trying to change his mind because she didn't want this to happen at all. [12/27/2015 6:50:11 PM] Megan: Colin looked around trying to figure out what to do. Domhail walked back into the apartment. "We need to go now.. they are searching Paddy's house." He looked up at Eilinora hoping she understood the weight of everything. "We need to go." [12/27/2015 6:53:53 PM] Meyghaenn: "Colin," Eilinora said seriously, and then when he continued to say it, she knew that she didn't have a choice. Tears coming to her eyes, Eilinora walked into the bedroom and started to gather everything they needed. [12/27/2015 7:10:28 PM] Megan: Colin got out his bags throwing everything Craig needed that was in the kitchen and living into it. Once the bags were filled he went back into the bedroom to see if Eilinora was ready. "I'll get the bags. You get Craig."
He took the bags walking them to the van the placing them in the back. He then helped his wife and son into the car. [12/27/2015 7:12:11 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora looked up at him when he told her to get the baby. She walked over to Craig, who started crying, probably because he saw his mother's face. The woman held him close and moved into the car, not once looking at Colin. [12/27/2015 7:16:52 PM] Megan: It took several hours to get to Dublin. Once they arrived Colin led her to a small apartment his grandfather owned. Luckily the tenants just moved out, so it was empty. Everyone was going to different places to be safe.
Colin opened the door of the apartment to let his family in. [12/27/2015 7:18:42 PM] Meyghaenn: She was exhausted by the time they got there, and all cried out. Colin let them into the apartment, and Eilinora found a blanket to put Craig down with, then walked to the loo to get a break. [12/27/2015 7:29:19 PM] Megan: Colin kicked the sofa trying to figure out what to do. This was not what he wanted to do and this is not where he wanted to be. He noticed that Eilinora was spending a long time in the bathroom. [12/27/2015 7:32:22 PM] Meyghaenn: When Eilinora finally did all that she possibly could do in the loo, she came out and walked immediately over to their bags to get out a change of clothes for herself. Then she walked back into the bathroom to put them on. [12/27/2015 8:30:17 PM] Megan: Colin watched as Eilinora came out to get things ready for bed. She went back into the bedroom, so he decided to wait outside. [12/27/2015 8:31:28 PM] Meyghaenn: After she changed, she walked out, and ran right into Colin. Her eyes immediately turned from his, moving past him to put her clothes in a pile. [12/27/2015 8:32:10 PM] Megan: "We need to talk about this." Colin followed her into the living room. [12/27/2015 8:32:39 PM] Meyghaenn: "I don't want to," Eilinora told him immediately, going through the bag before she shook her head and sat back. "Shit. We didn't bring toothbrushes." [12/27/2015 8:34:35 PM] Megan: "I'll go to the market straight in the morning." Colin looked at Eilinora for a moment. "I know this wasn't in the plans, but the wrong person got caught. Even though I didn't really have anything to do with what happened. I advised against it." [12/27/2015 8:37:27 PM] Meyghaenn: She still didn't look up at him. "I don't care," she said, shaking her head. Eilinora stood up and went into the small kitchen, trying to figure out what she had to work with, which was... nothing. She cursed again, slamming the cabinet door shut. [12/27/2015 8:38:09 PM] Megan: "So would you have rather me gone to jail?" Colin said as he followed her in the kitchen. "Because if that's the case let's go back." [12/27/2015 8:39:05 PM | Edited 8:42:23 PM] Meyghaenn: "Oh, shut up, Colin," Eilinora said, walking out of the kitchen and to the living room, which was equally empty, save for their bag. She just looked at the emptiness and hated everything. [12/27/2015 8:42:03 PM] Megan: Colin followed her then grabbed her hand to pull her closer to him. "Don't you dare tell me to shut up." He was now incredibly angry, letting go of her he grabbed his coat. "I'm taking a walk." [12/27/2015 8:44:36 PM] Meyghaenn: He yanked her closer, and Eilinora finally met his eyes, knowing that she'd pushed it beyond what she ever had before. But he had, too. He'd taken her away from her family. And their house... which wasn't much, but it was what they'd built together. When he let go of her and walked away, she wrapped her arms around her stomach. "Bye." [12/27/2015 8:48:23 PM] Megan: Colin walked around Dublin hating everything. He despised the IRA for not listening to him. He despised Barry for compromising everything. He despised himself for not keeping his promise. He figured they would lay low then he would call his da to see if things were safe to return.
He went into a store to buy toothbrushes, flowers, food for Craig, and breakfast items for the morning. Once he paid he made his way back to the apartment. It had been a couple of hours since he left. [12/27/2015 8:52:16 PM] Meyghaenn: Once Colin left, Eilinora threw her clothes to the other side of the room in her anger. She let out some more tears, then went to find another blanket, which didn't seem to exist. She found a small throw, and that was it, other than the blanket she'd put Craig on. He woke up and she fed him, then laid him back down, but this time in the living room. Eilinora laid down beside him with her small blanket, facing away from the door so she didn't have to look at Colin when he came back. In fact, she pretended to be asleep. [12/27/2015 8:54:29 PM] Megan: Colin entered the room seeing his son and wife on the floor sleeping. He quietly walked into the kitchen to put away the food. Then he went into his bag pulling out the blanket they kept on their sofa. He gently placed the blanket over the both of them, deciding that he wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight. [12/27/2015 8:58:05 PM] Meyghaenn: She held her breath when he walked closer, and she was surprised to see that he'd packed her favorite blanket. Once he walked away, Eilinora pulled it tighter around her. She let out a small sigh, and kissed her son's head before she tried to sleep.
In the morning, Eilinora went into the kitchen to see what Colin had brought for breakfast. She was going to cook breakfast, until she realized that she didn't have any pan to cook with.
It was probably dumb, and Colin would probably be angry, but she walked to the apartment next door to ask for a pan. She ended up in a conversation with them, and didn't get back until fifteen minutes later. But she started to cook, hoping Craig would keep sleeping until she was done. [12/27/2015 9:24:12 PM] Megan: Colin was in the bedroom trying to plan what he needed to put together for them. He had been sketching on his notepad all night. He figured he could get some wood then start building things as soon as he could.
He heard the door close, so he walked out to see Eilinora cooking in the kitchen. "I'm going to find a bed and a crib for Craig, so he's comfortable. I'm also going to call my da tonight. If there's no danger we'll go back." [12/27/2015 9:25:25 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora didn't look up at him, focusing on her eggs. "So you think you tore us out of our homes for one night, because you were in a panic?" [12/27/2015 9:29:03 PM] Megan: "I think I did the best thing to keep you from having to visit me in prison." Colin said pointedly. [12/27/2015 9:31:25 PM] Meyghaenn: She cast a look at him, then turned back to her eggs and stayed quiet. Eilinora finished them, and put them onto a plate for him, pushing it across the cabinet. "There." [12/27/2015 9:32:47 PM] Megan: "Thank you," Colin said as he began to eat his food. [12/27/2015 9:35:41 PM] Meyghaenn: Craig started to wake up, so Eilinora left her husband to his food, and went to pick him up. She took the rest of the eggs, then walked into the living room to go feed her son. [12/27/2015 9:36:44 PM] Megan: Colin sighed then followed her into the living room with his plate. "I can't do this Eilinora. I need you on my side right now. " [12/27/2015 9:37:47 PM] Meyghaenn: "I'm not," Eilinora told him, not looking up at him. "I'm not on your side. I'm mad at you. I don't care that you're my husband, and I'm not supposed to be. I am." [12/27/2015 9:41:04 PM] Megan: "We can get through anything if we face it together. I don't know how I'm going to fix this if my wife treats me like she doesn't even love me. Like she doesn't even care if I go to jail." Colin said with a sigh. "I'll just drive you to the train station and call your dad to pick you up. If that's what you want. [12/27/2015 9:44:04 PM] Meyghaenn: "That's not what I want," she said, shaking her head at him and letting out a sigh. "I'm not going to be a woman who left her husband. I'm not going to go back and live a life where I'm ostracized, and you know that's what I'd be doing. So stop acting like I have a choice, because you know I don't." [12/27/2015 9:45:58 PM] Megan: "I'm just saying right now I feel alone, so I might as well be alone." Colin said as he let out a sigh. "I'm trying to figure this out." [12/27/2015 9:47:55 PM] Meyghaenn: She looked up at him with a completely disgusted look. Then she stood up to be closer on the same level. "You feel alone?" she asked him, her eyes watering. "You moved me away from my parents without a single word. I live in an apartment where nothing that I own is here, when I'd worked for the past two years to make that home for you. You are not the only person that's in a bad place, right now, Colin, so stop being so... so... selfish!" [12/27/2015 9:49:46 PM] Megan: "I'm not the only one being selfish." Colin said as he looked her in the eyes.
"Let's go back," Colin said not wanting to fight with her anymore. It already felt like a prison and this way she wouldn't be shamed since it would be him who landed himself in prison. [12/27/2015 9:51:46 PM] Meyghaenn: When he said what he did, Eilinora couldn't help herself. She reached out and pushed on his chest, angry tears in her eyes. Then he said that they should go back, and she let out a groan, because he didn't get it. "Go," she said with a strained voice. "Maybe then you'll stop holding it over my head. Like I'm supposed to be happy about this because it's the lesser of two hells." [12/27/2015 9:55:38 PM] Megan: "I'm just saying can we not waste our time being mad at one another?" Colin asked. [12/27/2015 9:57:04 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora was about to tell him to shove it when the baby started crying. She immediately went down onto her knees, lifting him up and holding him close, even though he was throwing a full on fit. [12/27/2015 10:00:17 PM] Megan: Colin let out a sigh as his son began to cry. He walked closer to him putting a hand on his back then kissed him on the head. "It's okay, baby boy." [12/27/2015 10:01:55 PM] Meyghaenn: Together, they helped calm him down, and then he turned in Eilinora's arms and reached out for his da. The woman met Colin's eyes, handing the baby over before she started to clean up. [12/27/2015 10:03:57 PM] Megan: Colin took Craig in his arms, holding him close. "I'm sorry..." Colin said to his son. "For everything." He kissed him on the head then closed his eyes, trying to figure out how to fix this mess. [12/27/2015 10:07:16 PM | Edited 10:12:02 PM] Meyghaenn: A few days later, Eilinora woke up and went down to the store to get a paper. Then she walked up to the apartment to start frying some ham.
While she cooked, she looked through the ads for jobs. There were a couple of maid options for early mornings that she figured she could take, so she took the pencil she'd found on the floor and circled them. [12/27/2015 10:11:32 PM] Megan: Colin found a crib and a mattress for the both of them. The apartment was a lot bigger than the one they had in Belfast, so Craig could have his own room. The apartment was also paid for, his cousin was only asking for half the rent he normally charged people.
He was also trying to find a job at a pub, so he could earn some cash to get everything else they needed. After getting the crib sorted he walked into the kitchen to see his wife with the paper. "Hey." [12/27/2015 10:12:52 PM] Meyghaenn: "Hi," Eilinora said, stepping away from her paper to poor him a glass of milk. Then she turned back to the paper. "I need you to stay with Craig this afternoon." [12/27/2015 10:13:41 PM] Megan: Colin looked up at her in surprise. "Why?" [12/27/2015 10:14:35 PM] Meyghaenn: "I'm going to stop by a couple of inns to get a job," she said immediately, not wanting to really get into it with him, but knowing that she probably would. [12/27/2015 10:15:24 PM] Megan: "Why?" Colin said with his eyebrows furrowed. "I'm getting a day shift job at a pub on O'Connell. That and tips should be more than enough to handle the rent." [12/27/2015 10:16:11 PM] Meyghaenn: "I like my apartment to be furnished," she said, shaking her head. [12/27/2015 10:16:52 PM] Megan: "I got us a bed and I got us a crib." Colin offered. "I'm also talking to someone about a sofa. It's coming together piece by piece." [12/27/2015 10:19:15 PM] Meyghaenn: "I don't have pots and pans. I don't have blankets. I don't have books or cards or games. I don't have the clothes I had before we moved. There are things that we need, Colin, and it's going to take us years to get it with one salary." Eilinora looked over at him, taking a deep breath. [12/27/2015 10:21:57 PM | Edited 10:22:15 PM] Megan: "I'm hoping we don't have to stay here for years." Colin said softly. "I'll make this place comfortable for all three of us. You know I want nothing more than that. Craig needs you... and soon I'll be gone all day at work." [12/27/2015 10:23:21 PM] Meyghaenn: When he shot her down, she dropped the pencil, then crumpled the paper and threw it into their tiny trash can. Eilinora pulled the ham off of the pan and gave him some of it. [12/27/2015 10:25:03 PM] Megan: "Thank you for the ham." Colin said in reply to Eilinora. He looked over at his wife wondering how long this freeze out was going to last. [12/27/2015 10:27:12 PM] Meyghaenn: Since Craig was still sleeping, Eilinora sat on the floor in the living room with Colin. She kept quiet, but that didn't last for long. "I'm lonely," she admitted, pulling her legs up to her chest. [12/27/2015 10:28:17 PM] Megan: Colin looked down at his wife then got down on the floor with her. "Me too." He moved closer to her. "Am I allowed to give you a hug?" [12/27/2015 10:29:16 PM] Meyghaenn: She started to cry, and then Eilinora nodded, leaning over onto his shoulder and just letting it all out. At least up north she had friends and family to visit. Here, she was stuck all day in this apartment. It was awful. [12/27/2015 10:32:01 PM] Megan: Colin wrapped her up in a tight hug, kissing her head softly. "I'm sorry." [12/27/2015 10:33:32 PM] Meyghaenn: He apologized, but Eilinora didn't respond. After she cried, she pulled back from him, wiping at her eyes. "Sorry," she said, shaking her head. [12/27/2015 10:42:11 PM] Megan: "No need to apologize." Colin said softly as she began to pull away from him.
He looked into her eyes for a moment before letting out a sigh. "I feel like if I'm honest with myself the best thing for you and Craig... is to go back to Belfast. You guys move back in our apartment... and have your parents and your friends. Then be a man and face the consequences. I already quit the IRA once they started to think on those terms... I couldn't support them anymore." He crossed his arms looking her in the eyes. "Be honest... would that be the best thing for you and Craig?" [12/27/2015 10:44:11 PM] Meyghaenn: He started to say what he needed to say, and Eilinora shook her head. "I don't think the best thing for me and Craig is for us to not have you in our lives." [12/27/2015 10:45:33 PM] Megan: "You sure?" Colin asked as he met her eyes. "I know you're not happy... and I hate that." [12/27/2015 10:47:08 PM] Meyghaenn: "What would I do without a husband?" she asked him. "What would Craig do without a father?" Eilinora shook her head. "I'm not happy. But I wouldn't be happy being a single mother, either, so it's pointless." [12/27/2015 10:51:36 PM] Megan: "How can I make you happy again?" Colin said. "I just want you to look at me like you use to." He looked over at the garbage. "Do you really want to get a job?" [12/27/2015 10:52:59 PM] Meyghaenn: "I don't know," Eilinora answered. He asked about the job and she shook her head again. "I don't know." The woman ran her hands through her hair. "I just want to have a life again." [12/27/2015 10:56:28 PM] Megan: Colin nodded his head then kissed her on the forehead. "Go... get that job. Maybe you'll make some friends." [12/27/2015 10:57:43 PM] Meyghaenn: "I can't get the job," she told him, looking up at him. "You have a day job." [12/27/2015 11:00:36 PM] Megan: "I'll ask for a different shift. It's my fault we're in this mess." He said softly. [12/27/2015 11:02:42 PM] Meyghaenn: "I don't want to be the reason that your life gets more difficult," she said, and she knew that was wrong, but it was what she wanted. Eilinora stood up, looking down at him. "I'll stay with Craig. You'll make friends... we can... have dinner parties, or... something." [12/27/2015 11:05:42 PM] Megan: Colin stood up as well looking into her eyes. "I just want you to kiss me and look at me the way that you did. I can work an evening shift. I want you to go out and have a life." He sighed. "I'll make a phone call and you'll go for those interviews, I'm okay with this." [12/27/2015 11:08:36 PM] Meyghaenn: "Colin," Eilinora said, not understanding how now them trying to help each other was being an argument. "I take a day shift, you take a night shift, and when are we together? That's not going to make things go back to normal. Colin said as he stood up to get closer to her. "So... we might have a chance to go back." Colin explained. "We left for a reason. If we can go back though then... obviously I'm going to try to. So you can be near your family." "You were part of a group that blew up a hotel, and then you were so afraid that you ran away, taking his daughter and his grandson with him. I'm pregnant again. He will take me away from you." They'd been here, miserable, for all these weeks, and as much as he said there was a purpose, she still didn't get it. And now he wanted to just take them back like it was all going to be over. It wasn't really a vase, more of a glass, but it was the best she had there in Dublin. Then she sat down at the table, and waited for Colin to come back. Then I talked with another man today from Belfast. It mad me realize a few things." "There have been random kidnappings, beatings, and stabbings in Catholic neighborhoods. We're safer here." "I don't want Craig to join a paramilitary then mess up his marriage like I did. Belfast isn't the same." "I miss it so much but it's safer, you're right." [1/3/2016 9:13:56 PM] Megan: Colin sighed then moved over so he was closer to him. "What do you want to do? Honestly. Even if it's hard I'll make it happen." [1/3/2016 9:15:12 PM] Meyghaenn: "We should stay," she said, wiping at her eyes. "It's safer for you, and me, and the kids, and that's what's important... I'm just... I've never left Belfast and now I'm out here with no one I know and it's hard. But that's not a reason to go back. I'll fix it. I'm trying to fix it." "I get why you feel this way...up until today I've been missing home too. I miss my da. Maybe they'll come to Ireland." [1/3/2016 9:37:22 PM] Meyghaenn: "Up until today?" she asked, furrowing her brows. "What changed today? Just knowing that it's dangerous?" [1/3/2016 9:39:46 PM] Megan: "It put things in perspective. That my Belfast doesn't really exist anymore." Colin said. "IRA is fighting dirtier than usual. Everyone is fair game and considered collateral damage. There's no more honor to it anymore." [1/3/2016 9:41:08 PM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora didn't know if she agreed with that, but maybe he was right. "So this is where we are... for good," she said, nodding. "I'll work more on it." Eilinora forced herself to eat, and then she started cleaning up. After that, she moved into the living room and moved to arrange things to more feel like it wasn't temporarily thrown in.
If this was going to be her life, then Eilinora could face it. She just had to tell herself that she could. Craig was a handful, as always, and he'd gotten into their room and turned things upside down when she accidentally took a small nap on the sofa. Máire had been her usual self, playing with her toys or watching the telly, but she was starting to get restless because Eilinora hadn't done anything with her, and she was probably getting hungry since lunch was small.
So when her husband came home, she looked up at him from the sofa and gave him the best smile she could. "Don't go in the bedroom." [1/3/2016 10:29:19 PM] Megan: "Oh no... what happened?" Colin walked over to pick his daughter up since she was crawling toward him. [1/3/2016 10:30:02 PM] Meyghaenn: "I guess I left the door open and Craig got in there," she said, shaking her head. Eilinora started to sit up, pulling her cardigan around her shoulders. "It's a mess." "Are we going to clean up your mess, so mummy doesn't have to do it?" [1/3/2016 10:56:06 PM] Meyghaenn: "Ew, no," he said, making a face, to which Eilinora rolled her eyes and then sneezed. When his da picked him up, Craig shook his head. "No." [1/3/2016 10:59:37 PM] Megan: "Yes or you are going to bed early without desert. Not to mention a spanking. "Colin, I don't think I want him cleaning it," she offered. In reality, she didn't think that he could really clean up all that he'd messed up. [1/3/2016 11:16:22 PM] Megan: "We got this. I'll clean up anything he can't." Colin placed his son on the floor then walked into the bedroom to clean it up. Anything that was easy he had his son do, but anything that involved glass was something he had to handle. Craig did the first couple of things, but then his feet started to drag. "Da, this is stupid... I don wanna." [1/3/2016 11:21:50 PM] Megan: "You making this mess is stupid. You need to appreciate your ma more. So you'll clean until everything is righted," Colin said in a warning tone. [1/3/2016 11:23:08 PM] Meyghaenn: "I 'pissiate her!" he argued, and when his da kept talking, Craig mumbled and picked up some more clothes to put in the drawer. Then he slammed it shut, clothes still hanging out of it. [1/3/2016 11:27:09 PM] Megan: Colin looked over at his son then shook his head. "Make sure the clothes are in the drawer before you shut it." It took another fifteen minutes before the room looked presentable. "What do you think? Better?" [1/3/2016 11:28:21 PM] Meyghaenn: "Ugh," Craig said, and when he kept working, he made sure to go just as slow as he could so his da did more of it. "It looks the same," he said. "And ma's job is cleaning so this was mean to make me do it." [1/3/2016 11:31:17 PM] Megan: "No... that's not her job." Colin leaned down then gestured for Craig to walk over to him. "You mum's job is to take care of you. She does her job. Her job is not to have you purposely make messes, so she cleans them up after you. That's mean. You are very mean to your ma sometimes. It needs to stop." [1/3/2016 11:32:54 PM] Meyghaenn: Craig walked closer to his da, and when he told him he was mean to his ma, his eyes went wide. "I'm not! She says she loves me all the days!" [1/3/2016 11:40:29 PM] Megan: "She definitely loves you and I love you too. But when you do things like this it's mean, because it means you are making more work for ma. She always takes care of you, right? So we need to make sure we take care of her too." Colin looked into his son's eyes. "Understood? No more messes?" [1/3/2016 11:41:38 PM] Meyghaenn: The little boy was confused, but he nodded his head at his da. "Maybe," he said, seriously. [1/3/2016 11:42:54 PM] Megan: "Maybe? Can I get an 'I try' or 'yes'?" Colin asked raising an eyebrow. [1/3/2016 11:43:28 PM] Meyghaenn: "Maybe I try," he said, smiling at him with big, pink cheeks. [1/3/2016 11:45:45 PM] Megan: Colin reached out to tickle his son then picked him up. "Eilinora we have a smart alec son." He threw Craig over his shoulder as he walked into the room. [1/3/2016 11:46:55 PM] Meyghaenn: Craig screamed and giggled, and when they walked into the room, he looked over at his ma. "Ma! Da says you don't have to clean up any more messes EVER."
She rose an eyebrow, then coughed before she spoke. "Really?" [1/3/2016 11:50:32 PM] Megan: Colin chuckled then put him on the ground. "Hopefully he's on maybe I'll try on the making mess decision."
He smiled at his little girl. "How's my little girl?" [1/3/2016 11:51:56 PM] Meyghaenn: "Hey, that's better than where he was," Eilinora smiled. When Colin came closer to them, Máire reached her arms up for him wanting him to pick her up so she could snuggle into his neck. "She missed you. I've been boring." [1/3/2016 11:54:39 PM] Megan: Colin smiled as he picked her giving her a kiss on the cheek. "Not boring...sick. We don't like it when mummy's sick do we?" [1/3/2016 11:55:40 PM] Meyghaenn: "Sometimes we do," Craig answered immediately, and Eilinora turned to hear what he said. "Because then we don't have to take baths, or clean up, or get dressed, or read books, or do anything, really. It's fun." [1/4/2016 12:06:24 AM] Megan: "You're mum is sick and you had to clean up. Also I don't know why you want to smell." Colin looked at his daughter. "Do you want to smell Máire?" [1/4/2016 12:08:16 AM] Meyghaenn: When her da said her name, the little girl looked up at him and giggled, even though she didn't know what he said. Craig shrugged. "I said sometimes..."
Eilinora laughed, then coughed again, before relaxing back into the sofa. "I'm exhausted." [1/4/2016 12:10:11 AM] Megan: "You like to smell sometimes?" Colin said with a teasing smile.
"Do you want soup?" He asked his wife wondering if she needed food. [1/4/2016 12:11:27 AM] Meyghaenn: Craig hit himself in the forehead with his hand, shaking his head and plopping down onto the floor. The woman smiled and then nodded. "Yes please," she said, and then coughed again. "We could just sit here and watch telly." [1/4/2016 12:13:32 AM] Megan: "Sounds like a plan," Colin said with a smile. "Let's get mummy some food." He walked into the kitchen pouring the soup into the bowl then putting it in the microwave for a little bit. Once it was hot enough he took it out, placing a spoon in the bowl then walked it over to her. "I've been told this is really good." [1/4/2016 12:15:49 AM] Meyghaenn: Máire stayed still in her da's arms as he got the soup, and then Eilinora sat up better on the sofa. "Thank you," she told him seriously. The woman took a bite, her eyes going a little wider. "It's amazing," she agreed, smiling. "I needed this." [1/4/2016 12:18:19 AM] Megan: "Good," Colin leaned over to kiss her on the head softly. He placed Máire on the floor then turned the telly to Doctor Who. "Look Craig it's the Doctor." [1/4/2016 12:20:27 AM] Meyghaenn: Craig got really excited about the Doctor, entranced completely by the show. After a few episodes, soup for the kids, and a lot of moving around, the family found themselves all on the sofa, with Craig and Máire asleep. Eilinora was laying down with the baby beside her, and her head by Colin's leg, where she was just inches away from Craig's foot as he curled up in his da's lap. [1/4/2016 12:22:40 AM] Megan: Colin kissed his son on the head then looked over at his girls. He placed a soft hand on his wife's arm. "You feeling better?" [1/4/2016 12:23:43 AM] Meyghaenn: Eilinora had laid there, enjoying family time while they had it, even if she didn't feel the greatest. Her husband asked how she was feeling, and she nodded her head, then tilted her head back to look at him again. "I'm pregnant." [1/4/2016 12:28:47 AM] Megan: Colin rose his eyebrows in surprise when she said she was pregnant. "How are you feeling about that?" [1/4/2016 12:29:58 AM] Meyghaenn: The woman kissed the top of Máire's head, smiling a little. "Really happy," she admitted. "We'll probably have five or six." [1/4/2016 12:31:13 AM] Megan: Colin chuckled then nodded his head. "Probably. As long as you're happy about it though... then I'm happy" [1/4/2016 12:31:46 AM] Meyghaenn: "I'm happy," she assured him, she reached a hand over to rest on his knee, looking up at him. "I love you." [1/4/2016 12:34:00 AM] Megan: Colin smiled down at his wife then leaned down to kiss her on the forehead. "I love you too."
