Seriously, Brooklyn was an amazing movie. It personally made me a little cringy at first because I find it hard to relate to mousy female characters--like I'm backsliding into my middle school form. But every bit of this movie was amazing and I felt for Eilis (seriously in love with her name) and her homesickness and her love for this new part of the world she was in. Tony was great and really perfect for her and his family was funny. I love that she was able to transform away from Ireland and find herself. I loved that they focused on her friendships with the other lodgers, I automatically assumed Patty and Diana would be mean spirited girls, I was pleasantly surprised that they actually helped her along the way in a pretty believable way. They weren't instantly saints to her and I thought that was great because they stayed true to their character while still helping Eilis.
I will admit the whole Jim side story had me screaming at my TV for General Hux to go get force choked and leave my sweet little Irish girl alone so she could go home to Tony.
Anyway, check it out. It's pretty dope.
So I finally saw Brooklyn today.
OMG, best movie I have seen in a really long time <3
One day you’ll catch yourself thinking about something or someone who has no connection with the past, and you’ll realize that this is where your life is.
