'Alchemy' - a short film, an experience!
Most times it is easy to categorize videos and tag them under genres like fiction/ non fiction or thriller/action/comedy etc. However along comes a film like ‘Alchemy’ and we aren’t quite sure where it exactly stands and what box we should fit it into!
‘Alchemy’ won the HBO Grand Jury Award for Best Short film at the recently concluded Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) 2014. A psychedelic mix of rich colours, geometric shapes, rhythmic music, free verse and beautiful images from everyday India, the short video is spellbinding. Although it sounds like a music video, Alchemy is something beyond a traditional music video. It’s an experience!
Made for the new release of Indian electronic artists Bandish Projekt, the video was created by ‘Ekabhuya’ (trio of Janmeet Singh, Shivangi Ranawat and Pranay Patwardhan) who’ve used Live Action, 2D and Rotoscopic Animation brilliantly. Do check them and their earlier work out over here.
