The latest Fear concoction allows people to tap into Gotham's ambient ectoplasm with their senses. Suddenly, people are confronted by their dear ones, but in the form of angry spirits who want to tear into the victim for whatever excuse they have to exert violence. This, of course, is all a delusion brought by Scarecrow's drug. The ghosts they see could even be from any rando, but the victim will see them as something more familiar to them.

Once exposed, Batman sees Danny and all he perceives is his recently deceased son, who has come from beyond the grave to kill him.
