Hi! I'm really curious about your malora interpretation 👀
In which ways are they different from their "canon" counterparts? In which ways are they similar?
I just love them, I haven't posted any fanart yet (homework's kicking my ass) but someday I will ✊
OMG I TOTALLY DIDN'T REALIZE I GOT THIS!!! SORRY and thank you for the ask!
Rose is more feral than depicted in most stories. She's a "fair" maiden, calm and patient in most iterations of Sleeping Beauty. Yes, mine is all of that too, but she prefers going nude when it's hot, getting juice and blood on her hands and dirt on her paws and free bleeds. She's of the wilds, she loves exploring ruins and castles but after too long she feels confined. Like a caged animal. She's so pretty and unassuming you wouldn't think she'd literally rip your throat out if you threaten her.
as for Maleficent, or "Maeve" as I've named her, she's quite sad, but refused to admit it. (I've only watched "Maleficent" once, so those movies give very little inspiration.) She's a manipulator because she's needed to be in order to survive. She was kicked out by her family so she doesn't know any other dragons, she has history with the Faerie Sisters, for good or ill. She easily distrusts people and also wants to know everything about them, which is why Rose is so intriguing.
I drew her at the unemployment office today 🌹☺️
I love your head canons! Aurora having a wild personally that clashes with her appearance and how people perceive her is!!! So!!!! Perfect!!!!!!
I've said this a thousand times but it makes a lot of sense that someone who's grown up isolated in a forest surrounded by wild animals and raised by three incompetent fairies would not act like a regular person
Sort of like how homeschooled people don't tend to be so self-conscious/insecure as people who've been through the hell that is public education
Her world was very small and had less rules, being a princess all of a sudden must have been such a culture shock
Societal expectations back then we're much more strict, the fairies probably let her be a kid for longer than it was customary, thinking her coronation day was still so far away
P.S: I made a Malora discord server, if you want to join let me know :) we love to talk about these things
haha! funny you say that, in my story the Faerie Sisters are very much not incompetent lol. Flora teaches Rose to sew and make her own clothes and Fauna teaches Rose to cook and bake. The opposite of their movie counterparts. Merryweather teaches Rose how to chop wood and survival skills. They're all her "aunties" but Flora is the most like a "mom" since she's the eldest and she's technically her sisters' mother too!
The animals worship her, it's not the same as humans who don't know who couldn't care less about you. But most kids love Rose cuz she's so cool, a frequent visitor to their villages and hamlets instead of vagabonds who're gone with the wind. True, she up and leaves when she wants to (like Snufkin!!!!!) but she has the courtesy to bid her farewells. The Sisters even taught her to read and write, in hopes that acclimating into royal life would be easier.... but that goes into spoiler territory. ;)
Finally figured out her hair. I hope
girl you're the main character why can't I draw your hair???
do you ever make a character and plan to for them die in their creation stage
